Belton, Texas (Steve Kellough Official Website) - Steve Kellough, of the popular country music band Wild Horses was seriously injured yesterday in a work related incident at a local Steel Fabricating Plant in Belton , Texas. A roll of metal weighing many tons fell across both of his legs. His left leg had to be amputated below the knee and his right leg is severely broken and has been partially repaired with pins. He also suffered a broken hand and minor damage to his head. The family and the band members request that everyone remember Steve and his family in their prayers. Mark Stephen Kellough was born October 29 in Evansville , IN. The son of a minister, Kellough started singing gospel music at age five and added bass guitar after his mother taught him to play when he was 12. Prior to joining Wild Horses, he sung professionally in a gospel quartet; not exactly what the handsome bass player is known for these days. His charismatic personality and wild antics on stage have endeared him to the more rowdy country music fans. Kellough is married to wife, Lisa, and they have three children. Other members of the band are Angela Rae, Michael Mahler, and Ralph McCauley. The entire band relocated back to Texas in April of this year, which is where their career got its start. Wild Horses has been together for 15 years and has acquired a large and devoted following; affectionately referred to as "The Herd." They had a top 40 single, 'I Will Survive', while recording for Sony Epic and their videos were popular on CMT and GAC.
