Stanford Live 2019-20 Season Includes Brad Mehldau, Rhiannon Giddens, Kronos Quartet, Laurie Anderson

New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Stanford Live has announced its 2019-20 concert season, and featured among the performers taking the stage at Bing Concert Hall in Stanford, California, are several Nonesuch artists: Brad Mehldau, Kronos Quartet, Laurie Anderson, and Rhiannon Giddens with Francesco Turrisi.

Brad Mehldau, whose new album, Finding Gabriel, is out nex month, is the first to take the stage when he and tenor Ian Bostridge perform Mehldau's new song cycle, The Folly of Desire, at Bing Concert Hall on Wednesday, October 16, 2019. Also on the program is Schumann's Dichterliebe.

Kronos Quartet helps ring in the New Year with a performance on Wednesday, January 15, 2020. On a program titled The 60's, The Years That Changed America, Kronos performs a piece inspired by Martin Luther King's "I Have a Dream" speech along with music from throughout the decade.

Two weeks later, Laurie Anderson performs a new multimedia piece, The Art of Falling, at Bing Concert Hall on Wednesday, January 29, 2020. The piece explores the subject of falling, through songs, images, poems, and electronics.

The following week, Rhiannon Giddens and Francesco Turrisi bring music from their soon-to-be-released album there is no Other, to the venue on Friday, February 7, 2020. The new album, due May 3, 2019, is at once a condemnation of "othering" and a celebration of the spread of ideas, connectivity, and shared experience.
