New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - Kenny Chesney's evocative "Somewhere With You," with its "compellingly dark vibe" (Entertainment Weekly), is shooting up the Billboard Country Song chart, already climbing into the top 10 in a little over a month. The song, the second single from his new album 'Hemingway's Whiskey' (BNA Records) Chesney's sixth album to debut at Number One on the Billboard 200, has received an incredible response from some of the biggest program and musical directors in the US and it's on course to explode in 2011:
"Somewhere With You" is one of the fastest reacting Kenny Chesney records ever - and that includes some of the biggest hits in Country Music history! Sounds fresh, different and special and absolutely uniquely Kenny."
-Gregg Swedberg, PD/OM KEEY -Minneapolis
"'Somewhere With You' is so fresh. It's not exactly what I've become accustomed to from Kenny, but I love that. When we first gave it a test spin, and I heard it on the air, I was like "wow." Sonically, it just sounds GREAT on the radio."
-Shelly Easton, PD WXTU- Philadelphia
"I was obsessed with this song the moment I heard it. Play...repeat...play...repeat, you get the picture. I cannot get enough of this song, nor can our listeners."
-Marci Braun, Music Director WUSN - Chicago
"It's one bad ass song! I also think he created a whole new, cool sound for Kenny and I love it!"
-Mike Kennedy , PD KBEQ Kansas City
"Hair stand on your skin, good."
-Doug Montgomery, PD/OM WBCT Grand Rapids
Written by J. T. Harding and Shane McAnally, Chesney recently told Billboard that "Somewhere With You" "killed me when I heard it. This is a tortured soul song. If you get going with somebody, you've been in a relationship and for whatever reason she's gone or you're gone... where you're with somebody and you're thinking this isn't necessarily bad, but wow, man it would be really great to be with you. That can be a lot of mental baggage."
Chesney, the 4-time Country Music Association and 4-in-a-row-Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year, is wrapping up a landmark year and gearing up for an even greater 2011. In addition to the number one debut of 'Hemingway's Whiskey' in 2010, he released his live concert film, "Kenny Chesney: Summer In 3-D" and the "Boys of Fall" documentary. In 2011 Chesney will launch his "Goin' Coastal" tour, his biggest tour in five years, which has already seen its Foxboro, MA and Philadelphia, PA stadium dates sell out.
