Mexico's Conjunto Primavera Performs In Modesto August 31
Modesto, CA (Top40 Charts/ Conjunto Primavera Official Website) Conjunto Primavera, one of the foremost groups performing in the dramatic conjunto musical genre of the Southwest, will make its Modesto debut with a concert at the Gallo Center for the Arts on Friday, October 31. The performance begins at 8 pm.

Ticket prices range from $39 to $89, and may be purchased at the Gallo Center ticket office at 1000 I Street in downtown Modesto; online at GalloArts.org; or by calling (209) 338-2100.

The romantically inclined sextet was founded in 1978, and hails from Ojinaga in the northern state of Chihuahua, Mexico. The group first achieved great regional success, and in 1993 released their breakthrough album, "Me Nortie." Their many gold-selling recordings since then have resulted in numerous Latin Grammy nominations. Conjunto Primavera's most recent album is 2012's "Al Mismo Nivel."

While Conjunto Primavera is classified generally as a "norteƱo" act, for the Mexican region where their career was launched, their incorporation of conjunto's signature saxaphone sound sets them apart from contemporaries such as Los Tigres del Norte. The group also is notable for the diversity of styles it can perform, including rancheras, cumbias, boleros, and ballads.

Conjunto Primavera's members include founder Juan Dominguez (saxaphone); Felix Antonio Contreras (accordion and keyboards); Juan Antonio Melendez (vocals); Manuel Rolando Perez (bajo-sexto); Adrian Anthony Regalado (drums); and Francisco Mata (bass).
