Teaneck, NJ (Top40 Charts/ Main Street PR) Radikal Records has announced the US release of the smash hit, UK club single "The Word" from the electronic music duo known as Wideboys. The US release of "The Word" is currently available as a digital download on the Radikal Records website (https://radikal.com) and is set for release on iTunes, Beatport and other digital streaming music services on August 14th. The complete single package, which totals 8 tracks, includes a diverse selection of mixes from Wideboys as well as remixes from Project Bassline, Cause N Affect, Koncept, Deckscar, Crissy Criss.
Wideboys are Eddie Craig and Jim Sullivan, a dynamic DJ/production duo that have managed to amass an impressive catalogue over the years. Their list of official remixes touts big names such as Rhianna, Snoop Dog, Katy Perry and Lady GaGa. However, their latest offering, "The Word," is an original production that's seen tremendous success so far in the UK Charts. "The Word" has peaked at No. 1 in the UK Upfront Club Chart, No. 2 in the Cool Cuts Chart, No. 3 in the UK Urban Chart and at No. 4 in the UK Pop Dance Chart.
Known mostly for their UK garage, bassline and house productions, Wideboys' newest single is a bit of a departure from their usual sound, incorporating french house filter and talkbox effects - a throw back to earlier purveyors such as Daft Punk and Roger Troutman.
Once quoted as saying that, "Pigeon holes are for pigeons," Wideboys are obviously not ones to be restrained by expectations. "For us 'The Word' came about after listening to loads of people's opinions about music and where it should and shouldn't be. In the end you have 'just got to do you'. ['The Word'] is a personal record about belief in oneself and having confidence to place your balls on the line with what you do, and in our case that is for the music we love. That kind of vibe cannot be faked."
