LONDON, UK (Top40 Charts) From Friday 23 August to Sunday 25 August, the
Radio 1 Stage, the
Radio 1 Dance Stage and the 1Xtra Stage will all play host to some of the biggest names in music, while the BBC
Music Introducing Stage remains the best place to catch the most exciting emerging artists.
Radio 1 and 1Xtra will be broadcasting live from the festival sites to deliver all of the most memorable moments across the weekend directly to listeners, from exclusive backstage interviews to headline performances from some of the world's biggest artists. Listeners can tune in live on BBC
Sounds as well as on
Radio 1 and 1Xtra, with additional content available on the app, including individual performances and specially curated music mixes. Maya Jama, Jordan North, Arielle Free and Dev and Alice will be covering the festival on
Radio 1 across the weekend, while DJ Target will head up the action on 1Xtra.
BBC Four will broadcast highlights from the Foo Fighters' headline set at Reading on Sunday, and select performances from across the festival will be available on BBC iPlayer for audiences to stream live or watch on demand, along with a documentary special on Reading and Leeds to drop on
Radio 1 iPlayer after the festival.
Radio 1:
The
Radio 1 Stage will showcase some of the biggest names in music from the UK and beyond. The line-up includes 2019 Brit Award nominee Mabel, chart-topping four piece Bastille, and 21 year-old rapper Dave, whose 2018 track Funky Friday debuted at number one in the Official Singles Chart.
Meanwhile, the
Radio 1 Dance Stage will be the place to catch the hottest acts from the dance music world, with high energy sets from the likes of CamelPhat, Jaguar Skillz and Becky Hill.
Radio 1 will be broadcasting live from Reading from 10am - 4pm on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 August, bringing listeners live tracks from some of the biggest artists performing across the
Radio 1 stage and the Main Stage.
On Saturday 24 August, Jordan North and Maya Jama kick off the day with an hour of
Radio 1's Greatest Hits, before heading behind the scenes at the festival to bring all the excitement to listeners at home (10am - 1pm). Dev and Alice take the reins from 1-4pm, promising plenty of laughs alongside interviews and live performances before handing over to DJ Target at 7pm for the 1Xtra Takeover.
Jordan North returns for round two on Sunday 25 August with Arielle Free for
Radio 1's Greatest Hits (10-11am) and all the backstage build up for the final day of the festival (11am - 1pm), while Dev and Alice are back on air from 1-4pm.

Music Introducing on
Radio 1 will air on Sunday night, with the biggest and best sets from the BBC
Music Introducing Stages at both festival sites in a show co-hosted from Leeds and London (11pm - 1am). And for anyone feeling the post-festival blues, on Monday 26 August
Daniel P Carter will be re-living some of the highlights from the Pit Stage at Reading on
Radio 1's Rock Show (7-10pm).
1Xtra:
The 1Xtra Stage at Reading and Leeds will be home to the best in contemporary black music hailing from the UK and further afield. BBC Music's Sound of 2019 winner Octavian headlines Saturday night at Reading and Sunday night at Leeds, while Hackney-born rapper and singer
Not3s closes Sunday at Reading and Friday at Leeds. 1Xtra's very own Tiffany Calver, DJ Target and Kenny Allstar will also take to the stage throughout the weekend. The full line-up for the 1Xtra Stage can be accessed here.
From 7-11pm on Saturday 24 August all the action from Reading will be simulcast live on
Radio 1 and 1Xtra. DJ Target will take the helm from 7-9pm with all the best moments from the 1Xtra Stage.

Over 80% of the British acts on this year's line-up for Reading and Leeds have been supported by BBC
Music Introducing across their careers, including The 1975,
Royal Blood and Bastille.
The BBC
Music Introducing stage itself has been a familiar sight at the festival for over a decade, providing the ultimate destination for festival-goers to find their new favourite act before everyone else has heard about them. This year's bill includes Leeds-based four-piece Marsicans, who will headline Friday at Reading and Saturday at Leeds with their brand of upbeat indie pop, and singer-songwriter LION (aka Beth Lowen) will close Saturday night at Reading and Sunday night at Leeds. Sunday night at Reading and Friday night at Leeds will see The Mysterines in the headline slot, with their high-energy dancefloor-fillers bolstered by lead singer Lia Metcalfe's distinctive vocals.
The stage will also welcome surprise guests throughout the weekend which will be announced via @bbcintroducing on Twitter. Previous surprise sets have included Slaves, Florence and the Machine and Biffy Clyro.

TV and online:
BBC Four will broadcast highlights from the Foo Fighters' headline set at Reading on Sunday night, while a range of performances from across the Main Stage and the
Radio 1 Stage will be streamed live on BBC iPlayer throughout the weekend, which viewers can access on their computers, tablets, mobiles and connected TVs. Selected sets will also be available to watch on demand on iPlayer for 30 days after the festival.
Meanwhile, individual tracks and unforgettable moments will be made available on BBC Music's YouTube channel and BBC's dedicated Reading and Leeds site.
Viewers can also switch to Red Button on their TVs to catch performances from Reading live on Friday and Saturday night, while highlights from across the festival will be available throughout the weekend and following week.
A one-off documentary about Reading and Leeds will be available on
Radio 1 iPlayer after the festival, following the journeys of singer-songwriter Yungblud and a Reading and Leeds superfan as they navigate the build up to the August bank holiday weekend. Featuring an interview with Festival Republic boss Melvin Benn, the documentary will uncover what the festival means to performers and fans alike.
