LOS ANGELES, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Rhino Entertainment) - You're getting sleepy, very sleepy. And that's the point with the second volume of "Bedtime Beats: The Secret To Sleep, Tranquil Seductions One Jazz Beat At A Time." Following the success of the original release, "Bedtime Beats: The Secret To Sleep" is back with a second volume featuring the first-ever collection of jazz programmed to deliver a highly tranquil experience for all ages. The two-CD set features more than two hours of music by jazz giants like Duke Ellington, John Coltrane, Bill Evans and Joshua Redman, and will be available February 26 at all physical retail outlets and www.rhino.com for a suggested list price of $18.98, and at all digital retail outlets for a suggested retail price of $11.99

In 2006, Smash Arts and Rhino Entertainment released the first-ever two-CD classical music package created in response to an investigational study supporting music as a sleep remedy. The first volume kept the sandman busy offering an all-natural and proven way for the 40 million plus Americans who - according to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) - suffer from one or more chronic, long-term sleep disorders. User testimonials at www.bedtimebeats.com proclaim that the music is not only an effective and affordable alternative to medication, but it's also portable, non-addictive, inexpensive and all natural.

Created to meet the needs of sleep sufferers, "Bedtime Beats" was carefully programmed in accordance with research from Case Western Reserve University, which found that soothing music - specifically music with a tempo of 60-80 beats per minute (BPM) - resulted in significantly better perceived sleep quality, longer sleep duration, greater sleep efficiency, and more. The music featured in each set is specially sequenced and mastered to deliver a highly tranquil experience. People of all ages can benefit from the music, provided they listen daily for at least two weeks at the outset and begin listening to the CDs at least 15 minutes before bedtime.

Co-created by Rhino Entertainment and Smash Arts, a New York-based music, lifestyle and entertainment development firm headed by Cindy Bressler and Lisa Mercurio, both former senior entertainment executives, the idea for "Bedtime Beats" surfaced while on a flight to the west coast. After reading an editorial by Peggy Northrup, editor-in-chief of More magazine, which addressed a problem many women face today: trouble sleeping; up in the middle of the night, tossing and turning, Bressler tore out the editorial and passed it to Mercurio declaring, "There's something in this."

Knowing the abundance of research on the topic of insomnia, Mercurio researched the topic of music therapy, determined to produce a unique musical sleep remedy that had scientific merit. She identified the study, and with Bressler, set out to create a music therapy kit based on the findings in the study, to address not only their own occasional sleeplessness, but also that of their friends, family and the millions of Americans who have trouble sleeping.

The release of "Bedtime Beats: The Secret to Sleep" reached millions with coverage in the Wall Street Journal, Health, Family Circle Magazine, Scholastic Parent & Child Magazine, More Magazine, Allure, The Los Angeles Times, CNN Headline News, NPR, Associated Press, amongst others. Associated Press said, "It's just the remedy for America's restless sleepers." In 2007, EOS Airlines dedicated a 'Bedtime Beats' channel to their in-flight programming, which garnered great feedback from their passengers, and "Bedtime Beats" was nominated as one of Daily Candy's first-ever Sweetest Things of 2007.
