Ceybil Jefferies (Sweet Sable) Has Died From Coronavirus
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) R&B artist Sweet Sable (born Ceybil Jefferies), who scored 90s hits with "So Special" and "Old Time's Sake" and the album Love On My Mind has died, reportedly of COVID-19.

The Brooklyn singer boasted a deep, powerful voice that contrasted nicely with the dance-focused nature of her music.
While she only recorded a few songs, they had tremendous staying power, and are often in heavy rotation on 90s-focused radio stations and playlists.

Her single "Old Times' Sake" was placed on the Above The Rim soundtrack. The single reached No. 2 on Billboard's Bubbling Under Hot 100 Chart and landed at No. 15 on the Billboard R&B Charts back in 1994.

Jefferies continued to create music into the 2000s, but her health began to deteriorate. She was diagnosed with neurosarcoidosis, an inflammatory disease that affects your nervous system, such as your brain or spinal cord. The disease also caused Jefferies to lose her vision.
It continues to be so difficult to see so many people, young and old, succumbing to this dreaded virus. RIP, Ceybil Jefferies.
