(The Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra) - The Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra with Arturo O'Farrill will celebrate Latin jazz, the fusion of Latin rhythms and American jazz, by performing the works of the art form's legendary innovators Machito and Dizzy Gillespie in a concert entitled Cubana Be Cubana Bop. Cubana Be Cubana Bop will take place on Friday & Saturday, January 12 & 13 at 8pm at Frederick P. Rose Hall on Broadway at 60th St. in New York. Tickets are $30, $50, $75, $100, $120 and are available at the Jazz at Lincoln Center box office on Broadway at 60th Street, by calling CenterCharge at (212) 721-6500 or via www.jalc.org. Student rush tickets for $10 subject to availability one hour before show time.

Jazz at Lincoln Center continues a history of commemorating Latin jazz music with Cubana Be Cubana Bop. Including George Russell's "Cubano Be, Cubano Bop", originally performed by Dizzy Gillespie, the Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra is scheduled to perform "Manteca" and "Tin Tin Deo" some of Gillespie's most famous contributions to Afro-Cuban music.

The members are: Arturo O'Farrill, Music Director and Piano; Michael Philip Mossman, Trumpet; John Walsh, Trumpet; Jim Seeley, Trumpet; Mike Rodriguez, Trumpet; Luis Bonilla, Trombone; Gary Valente, Trombone; Reynaldo Jorge, Trombone; Earl McIntyre, Bass Trombone; Erica vonKleist, Alto Saxophone; Bobby Porcelli, Alto Saxophone; Mario Rivera, Tenor Saxophone; Ivan Renta, Tenor Saxophone; Pablo Calogero, Baritone Saxophone; Ruben Rodriguez, Bass; Vince Cherico, Drums; Jimmy Delgado, Percussion; and Tony Rosa, Percussion.
