Music China 2013, International Trade Fair For Musical Instruments And Services
HONG KONG (Top40 Charts/ Messe Frankfurt) Over 1,600 international brands and suppliers are signed up for Music China

Overseas exhibitors use the show to target the Chinese market

More than 1,600 brands and suppliers from 25 countries and regions will display a wide selection of eastern and western musical instruments at this year's Music China which will be held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, Shanghai from 10 - 13 October 2013. The show is a "must-attend" event organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, the China Music Instrument Association (CMIA) and INTEX Shanghai.

In addition to 10 international pavilions from Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Spain, Taiwan and the UK, Music China also features popular worldwide brands including Alfred, algam, Alhambra, AXL, BAM, BG, Bluethner, Boesendorfer, Buffet, Camac, Conn-Selmer, D'Addario, Dixon, Fazioli, Fender, Focusrite, Gewa, Hal Leonard, Ibanez, K&M, KHS, Kawai, Korg, Loree, Marshall, Mason & Hamlin, Maurigaux, Meinl, Midmuro, Music Sales, Novation, Orange, Peavey, Petrof, Roland, Salvi, Samick, Schimmel, Schott, Seiler, Steinway, T-Rex, Takamine, Tama, Tascam, Taylor, Thomastik, Toyama, Yamaha and Zildjian.

Some exhibitors have participated at Music China for many years as they believe it is a highly credible business platform for tapping into the Chinese market. An exhibitor for the last three consecutive years is Slovakian violin maker Warchal who believes the show is the most important exhibition in Asia. Owner of the company, Mr Warchal Bohdan, said: "Since the Chinese market is continuously growing, Music China has become one of our important marketing tools in this region." During the show, Warchal will highlight its new violin metal E string with great elasticity. "I am looking forward to getting positive feedback from buyers and players," Mr Bohdan added.

The expanded piano zone at this year's show is a direct reflection of China's increasing demand for high quality musical instruments. Established German piano maker Grotrian Piano Company GmbH will showcase their grand piano in a French Rococo style decorated with gold leaf ornaments. Mr Burkhard Stein, the company's CEO is optimistic about the local market response. He commented: "We think that Chinese customers will love this kind of piano especially as it is hand-made by a long-established German piano maker."

Grotrian is selling about 20 percent of its grand pianos in China. "Our aim is to increase our sales in China by five percent each year and we are doing well in reaching this goal," Mr Stein explained. "Music China has helped to create the knowledge of our brand in this market. We hope to find more dealers for both our grand and upright pianos in cities where we do have dealers."

Mr Norbert Niedermayer, CEO of German wood supplier Karl Klier & Co also shares the same sentiment regarding the demand for quality musical instruments. "There is a high demand for high quality wood material by Chinese instrument manufacturers, and Music China is no doubt the most important marketplace for us to reach these Chinese buyers."

Apart from the products on offer, the fair will also feature more than 1,000 concurrent events including educational forums, live entertainment, workshops and product presentations.

Music China is a brand event of Musikmesse in Frankfurt, Germany, which will be held from 12 to 15 March 2014. For more information about the Musikmesse fairs, please visit www.musikmesse.com
