LOS ANGELES (Recording Academy) - The Latin Recording Academy, in conjunction with Eventus Marketing, announce the return of the Latin GRAMMY Street Parties. For the third consecutive year, The Latin Recording Academy is proud to bring the unique sounds and rhythms of Latin music to local cities across the United States. The events will bring Latin music to local communities, getting them excited and ready for this year's 6th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards in Los Angeles on Nov. 3, 2005.
"The Latin GRAMMY Street parties serve a number of purposes," said Latin Recording Academy President Gabriel Abaroa. "Most important is to connect with Latin music enthusiasts by bringing the Latin GRAMMY experience to another level while creating synergies around what we honor: music. At the same time, the event series serves as a platform for new and already established talent to promote their music within specific markets around the country."
Each Latin GRAMMY Street Party will take place on a Sunday from noon – 7 p.m. local time. The first and much anticipated Latin GRAMMY Street Party was held on Oct. 2 in Chicago. More than 12,000 people gathered at Plaza Garibaldi to celebrate one common interest - music. A vibrant crowd danced to the Latin sounds of artists such as Monchy & Alexandra, Diana Reyes, Los Razos, Show Revelacion, Zarpaso Musical, Mazizo Musical, and Los Panchis. "They capture the essence of the Latin GRAMMY experience, bringing consumers, artists, and sponsors face-to-face. In doing so, sponsors enjoy the benefits of exposing their brand to consumers by taking an active role in their communities. We are excited to continue working with The Latin Recording Academy, Univision and sponsors in achieving one goal - bringing communities together through music."
