NEW YORK (EMI Televisa Music) - Belinda, the multi-platinum Pop/Rock superstar from Mexico has signed a new recording contract with EMI Televisa Music, a partnership between EMI Music, the world's largest independent music company and Grupo Televisa, the world's largest Spanish-language media company.

Belinda's eagerly anticipated new album, Utopia – her first for EMI Televisa – is slated to be released this fall in the United States, Mexico, Central and South America.

Belinda just finished recording Utopia in Los Angeles with some of the industry's most celebrated songwriters and producers including Kara DioGuardi (Kelly Clarkson and Gwen Stefani), Jimmy Harry (Kylie Minogue and Britney Spears), Doc McKeeny (RES), Greg Kursten (Lily Allen and Pink), Lester Mendez (Santana and Shakira), and Greg Wells (Celine Dion and Elton John). The album will feature a total of 13 new songs – 12 in Spanish, and one in English. The album's first single, Ni Freud, Ni Tu Mama, will be delivered to radio on August 21, with a new video to follow shortly thereafter.

"This album has been a great opportunity for me because I have been able to work with artists and producers of enormous quality and talent with the enormous support of EMI TELEVISA," said Belinda. "It's at times such as these that personal utopias are within reach."

"It is an honor and a privilege to have an artist as exceptional as Belinda join the EMI Televisa Music family," said Rodolfo Lopez-Negrete, President, EMI Televisa Music. "Belinda's new album is absolutely amazing, and I can tell her fans – both old and new – that it will be well worth their wait. We were incredibly fortunate to work with a stellar group of writers and producers on Utopia, and they really brought out the best in Belinda."

Belinda's self-titled solo debut, released in April 2004, was an international success that spawned hit singles such as Lo Siento, Boba Nina Nice, Angel, and Vivir. The album has been certified Gold and Platinum in Mexico, Guatemala and Venezuela, and Gold in Argentina and the US. Belinda has also recorded two soundtrack albums - Complices al Rescate and Amigos x Siempre. In total, Belinda has sold more than 2.1 million units of her albums worldwide.

"Belinda is an amazingly talented young woman with seemingly endless opportunities before her," said Marco Bissi, President and CEO of EMI Music – Latin America. "She is a major star in the Latin world now, but her music and ambition will help her achieve international superstardom before long."

Belinda began her entertainment career acting in some of Mexico's most popular telenovellas including "Amigos X Siempre", "Aventuras en el Tiempo" and "Complices al Rescate." She will also have a starring role in the soon-to-be-released Disney movie, "The Cheetah Girls 2" opposite Raven-Symone. "The Cheetah Girls 2" movie will premier on the Disney Channel on Friday, August 25, and will feature Belinda acting and performing new songs.
