New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Roadrunner Records) - As Soulfly gear up to release their 7th studio album Omen on May 25th, the band is offering up their first song from the upcoming crusher, "Rise of the Fallen" for a limited time free download! Featuring Dillinger Escape Plan vocalist Greg Puciatio sharing vocals with frontman Max Cavalera, the track is a devastating amalgamation of heaviness, electronic undertones and dual vocals that move from guttural to gritty. Download it RIGHT HERE to check it out for yourself! In a recent interview with Metal Hammer, Puciato explains how the union came about, saying, "We played at the Deftones Chi Cheng benefit shows and I did the Maynard part on 'Passenger' and [Max] said, 'Man, you did an awesome job on that song and we're tracking vocals on [Soulfly's] new album. Would you want to lay something down?' "I said yes and the next day he called and asked if I would come in tomorrow! I laughed and said, 'Yeah, can you send me the song?' and he said, 'No, we're just going to write it together! I don't even have vocals yet' I thought I was going to be handed a lyric sheet and I'd just sing a couple of lines but we ended up going in and writing the entire song together in about three hours." Recorded this past winter at Edge of the Earth studios with Logan Mader on the boards, Soulfly's Omen is out May 25th. The album also features guest appearances by Prong's Tommy Victor and Max Cavalera's two sons Igor and Zyon on drums for an Exel cover and a Sepultura classic.
