Chili Peppers were nominated for six Grammy Awards today, including Album Of The Year, Best Rock Album, Best Rock Song for "Dani California," Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal for "Dani California," Best Short Form

Dani California" and Best Boxed Or Special Limited Edition Package for their RIAA-certified platinum album "Stadium Arcadium."
The two-CD set, produced by longtime collaborator Rick Rubin, debuted at Number One in 28 countries around the world, including the U.S. - their first Number One album on the Los Angeles quartet's home turf - with first week sales of 442,489, according to Soundscan. Rubin also received a Grammy Award nomination for Producer Of The Year, Non-Classical for his collective work this year, which included the much lauded "Stadium Arcadium."
The album's lead single, "Dani California," spent 14 weeks at Number One on Billboard's Modern Rock chart, and 12 weeks at Number One on Active Rock. It also earned the Red Hot Chili Peppers seven 2006 MTV Video Music Award nominations. The album's second single, "Tell Me Baby," was Number One at Modern Rock for four weeks, while the third single, "Snow (Hey Oh)," is currently Number Three at Modern Rock.
The band's ninth studio album, "Stadium Arcadium," has earned the Red Hot Chili Peppers a host of honors, including two American Music Awards for Favorite Alternative Artist and Favorite Pop/Rock Band, and an MTV Europe Music Award for "Best Album." The band is currently nominated for two People's Choice Awards in the Favorite Group and Favorite Rock Song categories. With "Stadium Arcadium," the Red Hot Chili Peppers have also received four Billboard Music Award nominations and a nod from VH1 for their Big In '06 Awards.
The album has also met with unanimous critical praise from Rolling Stone (a "triumph that could pass for another, lesser group's greatest hits collection"), People ("an ambitious, inspired double disc... 'Stadium Arcadium' hits it out of the park"), and The New York Times ("the Peppers' best work since the 1991 'BloodSugarSexMagik'").
Having completed a sold-out tour of Europe, an appearance at the Fuji Festival in Japan, a headlining slot at Lollapalooza, and three-month North American leg of their World Tour, the band will continue on the road with special guests Gnarls Barkley this January for three months, playing arenas across the United States.
One of the most successful groups in rock history, Red Hot Chili Peppers have sold more than 50 million albums, logged seven multiplatinum CDs, and set a Modern Rock radio record with a staggering ten Number One Modern Rock hits.
