New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The Black Planes, Seattle's reverb-heavy psych behemoths, release their debut long-player, "This is The Black Planes" with a rabid fanbase and behind the scenes luminaries already hailing their work as a classic. Fusing 70's space rock fog with 90's Madchester grooves and Jesus and Mary Chain/Ride vibes, their colossal, creeping sound is looking to permeate album of the year lists on both sides of the Atlantic, with their freak-out live shows becoming must-see events.

Founded by former Friction Pitch singer and guitarist Dan Gallagher; Brent Cajka on synthesisers and Jeff Gall on drums, the album was recorded over a ten-month period with the mixing and mastering completed by local legend Chris Hanzsek (producer of Soundgarden; Melvins and many others), co-founder of Reciprocal Recordings (home of most early Sub Pop acts, including Nirvana) alongside Jack Endino. Aiming for a darker, heavier sound than Friction Pitch, The Black Planes have certainly achieved that, with the intoxicating mix of Gallagher's fuzzed-out guitar melding perfectly with the vintage swoon of Brent's synth lines, all topped with trippy Jim Reid/Mark Gardener-esque vocals.

The Black Planes will be releasing the vinyl version of their album on Backfire Motorcycle Night - attended by approximately 1000 motorcycle enthusiasts, hipsters, flipsters and psychonauts in the most happening section of Seattle. The first video from the album, Stone in Love, is like putting your head inside a lava lamp and shovelling drunken a choir into your ears…experience The Black Planes and BELIEVE.
