Nacional Records is proud to present the official soundtrack to the popular mun2 reality show "The Chicas Project," starring mun2 hosts Yasmin and Crash". The soundtrack includes Grammy-nominated artists like Aterciopelados, Nortec Collective and Andrea Echeverri, as well as buzz-worthy up-and-comers Los Bunkers, The Pinker Tones, Pacha Massive, Sara Valenzuela, Bitman & Roban, Cuarto Poder, and Mexican Institute of Sound.
The Pinker Tones, Barcelona's ambassadors of cool who have wowed audiences from Russia to Australia and everywhere in between, provide the show's theme song with the high-energy, political parody "Karma Hunters". The Pinker Tones are definitely a band to watch, having recently rocked SXSW and soon to dazzle the audience at KCRW's Sounds Eclectic Evening in Los Angeles. "The Chicas Project" Official Soundtrack also features previously unreleased remixes from Grammy-nominated Aterciopelados and Mexican song siren Sara Valenzuela, as well as new artists making waves overseas like Venezuela's Cuarto Poder with their perfect summer anthem "Arenita Playita" and Mexican rockers Porter.
"The Chicas Project" (which airs nationally on NBC/Telemundo's bilingual youth network mun2) takes Crash, a punked-out west coast rockera, and Yasmin, an urban-flavored chica from New York, on hilarious adventures where the girls channel their inner chica power breaking hearts and barriers along the way. The show airs nationally on NBC-Universal-owned bilingual youth network mun2 on Saturdays at 2PM, and is currently in pre-production for its second season. What better way to watch the fun than with a great soundtrack capturing the moment with Latin music's most cutting-edge artists.
