Caroline Jones Shines On New Release 'fallen Flower'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Caroline Jones Official Website) Singer/songwriter Caroline Jones chose Fallen Flower's 11 tracks from over 45 songs recorded at New York's Avatar Studios and Nashville's Loud Studios in 2010. Caroline singlehandedly wrote and produced the album in addition to playing guitar, 6-string banjo, harmonica, and singing both lead vocals and harmonies.

After spending years gaining production experience in New York and Nashville with songwriters and producers such as Chris Toland, Tommy Mottola, James Stroud, Anthony Smith, Greg Barnhill, Jon Randall, Stephony Smith and Shelly Fairchild, Caroline felt free to "express without regard for convention or stricture" on Fallen Flower. The resulting album's songwriting style combines pop, country and folk. The more subtle influences, though, seem endless; "Louise" and "Ain't No Bows" include orchestral string parts arranged by Adi Yeshaya.

Lyrically, Fallen Flower is an album of love songs, in the traditional sense of the word as well as through character illumination. Caroline elaborates, "I believe that trust and honesty comprise true love; however, as humans we tend to fear vulnerability, hence the internal conflicts of the characters in 'Diana', 'Misty Eyes', 'Louise' and 'Ain't No Bows'. When we exemplify courage by trusting ourselves, though, love feels both comforting ('Straight as Rain') and elating ('Wild Abandon')."

The title track encompasses the lyrical themes of the album: "I am made stronger by love/a little bit longer and I'll give up/a fallen flower". The phrase "Fallen Flower", explains Caroline, "refers to the flower that gives way to the growing fruit, just as our self-doubt slowly gives way to courage as we begin to trust our intuition." Vivekenanda wrote, "In the springtime, observe the blossoms on the fruit trees. The blossoms vanish of themselves as the fruit grows. So too will the lower self vanish as the divine grows within you." Caroline pays homage to Vivekenanda's quote at the end of "Fallen Flower": "My petals were tired of standing so straight/oh, but my, the fruit is ripe and sweet this May."
