Kandi Lounge Miami has opened the doors to the first location in the United States at 1200 Washington Avenue in South Beach. With a sister venue in Panama City, the ultimate gastro-lounge concept fuses its signature down-tempo dance music with molecular gastronomy, custom European fashion artwork and a paradise of modern vogue.
Successful nightlife and music entrepreneur Juan Carlos Dominguez and partner world-renowned DJ Cedric Gervais hosted a successful grand opening event for a select group of Miami's most seasoned tastemakers, VIPs and celebrity guests on December 17, 2008. 'We're incredibly excited to introduce something new and bold to the nightlife scene in South Beach,' said Dominguez. 'Hed Kandi is such a well-respected music label in Europe, I feel honored to be the first to bring its panache to the world.'
The sexy European concept is at the forefront of music and fashion, offering music curated directly from London, a state-of-the-art sound system and signature Hed Kandi artwork displayed throughout the venue. With over 2,000 square feet, the eclectic lounge will allow guests to move past the velvet rope and experience the scintillating interior complete with dimmed florescent pillar lighting, contemporary furniture, a sultry 25-foot LED-lit 'Kandi Bar' with a water-colored bar-top mimicking the waves of South Beach and decor in hues of plum, black and gold. Table-tops provide versatility, allowing the option to have a removable flat surface for dining or a table with built-in ice pails for bottle service. Each table also features a secret compartment to conceal table-service provisions including glassware, cocktail napkins, stirrers, etc.
