Spotify Reveals The Most-Streamed Songs Of Summer 2016!
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Spotify announces the songs that dominated summer listening, with Drake's "One Dance" taking the number one spot, globally. In second place globally is Calvin Harris (featuring Rihanna) with "This Is What You Came For", while Sia's "Cheap Thrills" rounds out the top three.

In the U.S., Drake took the number one, two, and five spots of most-listened-to songs of the summer, with "One Dance", "Too Good", and "Controlla" respectively. Rihanna takes the number three and four spots, with "Needed Me" at number three, and her collaboration with Calvin Harris "This Is What You Came For" as the fourth most-listened-to song of the summer in the U.S.

The songs of the summer were identified by looking at Spotify's most listened to tracks between June 1st and August 31st, 2016.

Other artists making up Spotify's global songs of the summer list include The Chainsmokers, Justin Timberlake, Desiigner and Fifth Harmony.

Shanon Cook, Spotify's resident music trends expert, commented: "Drake's 'One Dance' is impossibly catchy and by late spring had positioned itself as the one to beat. Other playlist staples like Sia's feelgood song 'Cheap Thrills', The Chainsmokers' standout track 'Don't Let Me Down' and Calvin Harris' confident club jam 'This Is What You Came For' helped shape a summer sound that was upbeat, edgy and memorable."
