Universal Music Publishing Group And Vevo Unveil 'Inside The Hit Songs'
Los Angeles, CA (Top40 Charts/ Universal Music Publishing Group) Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG), the world's leading global music publisher, has teamed up with VEVO, the leading premium music video and entertainment service, to launch an original series, INSIDE THE HIT SONGS, which highlights the craft of songwriting.

The brainchild of UMPG and VEVO, INSIDE THE HIT SONGS will give music fans a unique behind-the-scenes look at what is involved in the art of songwriting and the process of making a hit song from conception to recording. The first episode will feature an exclusive interview with The All-American Rejects, chronicling the creation of their hit single, "Gives You Hell," which was one of the most played songs of 2009, according to ASCAP.

VEVO and UMPG have slated noteworthy interviews for the series, including an inspiring interview with the legendary hit-maker Glen Ballard, sharing his experience of working with Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones on "Man In The Mirror." Additionally, Keri Hilson reveals the process behind writing her hit single, "Knock You Down," a collaboration with Kanye West and fellow UMPG songwriter Ne-Yo.

David Renzer, Chairman & CEO, Universal Music Publishing Group: "We are proud to be launching a new channel in partnership with VEVO that will give songwriters, publishers and artists a new outlet, and viewers a unique insight into the hit making creative process."

"Working with UMPG and the music publishing community offers VEVO fans a new way to experience their favorite music, through the eyes of the songwriter," said Fred Santarpia, General Manager, VEVO. "The songwriting process is fascinating - and it often stays behind the scenes - so we wanted to give our fans a peak behind that curtain. It's been a lot of fun for us to learn what went into creating some of the biggest hits of our time and we can't wait to share the INSIDE THE HIT SONGS series with music fans."

Access to INSIDE THE HIT SONGS will be available across the VEVO platform, which includes VEVO.com, VEVO Mobile (iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, Android) and VEVO connected devices (Google TV, Boxee). The series will also be available on VEVO's syndication partners YouTube, AOL, BET, CBS Interactive Music Group (including Last.fm) and Univision.
