ole Tops US Country Charts For 2nd Time In 3 Months With Dodson's 'Let Me Down Easy' (Billy Currington)
TORONTO, ONTARIO (Top40 Charts/ ole Official Website) ole, one of the world's largest independent music publishers, tops the chart for the second time in three months, this time with the Billy Currington single, "Let Me Down Easy." A co-write of ole writer Marty Dodson with Jennifer Hanson and Mark Nester, it hit the top of the Billboard Country Songs and Mediabase charts this week following a 26-week run-up. The company finished December with a number one for Rascal Flatts' "Why Wait," for which they presented the band, writers and label personnel with iPads featuring "number one" congrats.

Dodson is also represented on the same chart with the Carrie Underwood track "Songs Like This," which was not released as a single from her album Play On but nonetheless began to get heavy radio play and is heading for the Top 40 on the Billboard Country Songs chart. The song is a co-write with Jerry Flowers and Tom Shapiro.

"Let Me Down Easy" is the third number one for Dodson and his second with Billy Currington. The first Currington collaboration produced "Must Be Doin' Somethin' Right," a co-write with Jason Matthews. It was one of ASCAP's five most played songs in 2005. Kenny Chesney (with The Wailers) took "Everybody Wants To Go To Heaven," the Dodson/Jim Collins co-write from his Lucky Old Sun album, to the top of the country charts in the fall of 2008.

ole is also enjoying U.S. country chart success with "Crazy Girl," by the Eli Young Band, a co-write of ole-affiliated writer Liz Rose and Lee Brice, which has already hit number one on the iTunes Country chart;. Katie Arminger's "Best Song Ever," one of three co-writes by ole/Roots Three writer Bruce Wallace (with Katie Arminger and Amanda Flynn), including "Strong Enough" and "Ain't Gonna Happen," on her sophomore album, Confessions of a Nice Girl; and the Joey+Rory single "That's Important To Me," co-written by ole-affiliated writer Rory Lee Feek with Tim Johnson and Joey Martin. ole's on-going presence on the country charts in North America over the past few months has also included Frankie Ballard's "Tell Me You Get Lonely" (Marty Dodson); James Otto's "Soldiers and Jesus" (Chris Wallin); and Randy Houser's "A Man Like Me" (Danny Green).
