New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (Hong Kong Group) Limited (IFPI (Hong Kong Group) is pleased to announce details of the Hong Kong Asian-Pop Music Festival (HKAMF) 2016

Entering into its 6th consecutive edition since the year of 2011, the HKAMF is honored to have the continuous support from Create Hong Kong (CreateHK) of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region as the leading sponsor, and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) as collaborator. The show event will be held on 18 March 2016 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). It will continue on its tradition by engaging the cream performers of popular music, as well as budding recording stars from countries/regions in Asia, namely the Mainland China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and the host city Hong Kong. The budding recording artistes will compete for the various awards under the HKAMF 2016 Super Nova Contest, namely the HKAMF 2016 Super Nova Award, the HKAMF 2016 Best Vocal Performance Award and the HKAMF 2016 Best Stage Performance Award. The theme of HKAMF 2016 continues to be "Music In One Asia"; this year with emphasis on enviromental protection . A special feature this year will be inviting 2 past Super Nova winners, J. Arie of Hong Kong (2014) and GILLE of Japan (2015) to return to the stage of HKAMF to sparkle a new musical experience.

The HKAMF 2016 is a star dusted event. IFPI (Hong Kong Group) is proud to have the following superstars at the event, namely - Ding Ding, Zhang Lei from the Mainland China; F.I.R. from Taiwan; w-inds from Japan; A.O.A. from Korea; Kelly Poon from Singapore; Shila Amzah from Malaysia; Vanatsaya Viseskul from Thailand and Andy Hui from Hong Kong. With the support of music industry associations from participating countries/regions in Asia, namely CADPA, RIAJ, RIAK, RIAS, RIM, RIT and TECA, the following artistes are selected to compete in the HKAMF 2016 Super Nova Contest. They are Power Powder from the Mainland China; Eli Hsieh from Taiwan; MILLEA from Japan; LU:KUS from Korea; GENTLE BONES from Singapore; Nicole Lai from Malaysia; FIVERA from Thailand; and Sheldon Lo from Hong Kong.

IFPI (Hong Kong Group) is also pleased to have the following celebrities from the eight participating countries/regions as members of the adjudication panel for the HKAMF 2016 Super Nova Contest. They are Mr. ZHOU LUSHAN from the Mainland China; Mr. Jamie Hsueh from Taiwan; "JEFF MIYAHARA" from Japan; Mr. KIM CHANG HOON from Korea, Mr. George Leong from Singapore; Mr. KUAN CHI YUAN from Malaysia; , Mr. Wongwid Wannasriyapong from Thailand; and Mr. KENNY BEE from Hong Kong.

The Chairman of IFPI (Hong Kong Group) and the Chairman of the Organising Committee of HKAMF 2016, Mr. NG Yu, remarked at today's press launch that this regional mega event has been receiving tremendous attention from the public. The success of HKAMF could only be made possible under the support of CreateHK as well as other sponsors, partners and the artiste community. The Organising Committee has relentlessly sought to build the festival by inviting superstar performers for showcase performance, and budding recording artistes to engage in a friendly competition for cultural cross-flow. He envisioned that the HKAMF would become a platform for music exchange to promote music culture in Asia and to foster artistic and performance advancement for up and coming new artistes. All such will continue in building up Hong Kong as a key city for Asian Popular Music.

CreateHK continues to be the leading sponsor of the HKAMF for the sixth consecutive year. Mrs. Janet Chu, Assistant Head of CreateHK attended the press launch to show support to the HKAMF. She said at the press launch that "the HKAMF has become an annual signature event for the pop music industry not only in Hong Kong, but also in Asia. In addition to bringing a music extravaganza to the audience, the HKAMF also helps promote Hong Kong as Asia's music hub."

Co-organised by the HKTDC, a business forum under the theme "K-POP Legend: How Korean Pop Music Opens Up New Opportunities in Asia," will be held on 17 March at 11am, at the HKCEC Theatre 2. "The HKTDC is committed to promoting Hong Kong's music industry, and strengthening Hong Kong as a music hub in Asia," said Ms. Jenny Koo, HKTDC Director, Service Promotion. "The HKAMF is one of the core events of the Entertainment Expo. We are pleased to invite experts from South Korea, the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong to analyse the success for K-Pop and related business opportunities. We welcome all industry players to join us."

LeMusic is proud to be the Content Ecosystem platform and exclusive OTT live streaming platform in China for Hong Kong Asian-Pop Music Festival 2016. Mr. Yin Liang, CEO for LeMusic said, "As the biggest live music streaming OTT platform in China, LeMusic aired 367 live music events to over 200 million audience last year. In 2016, LeMusic goes global and targets to be the biggest live music streaming OTT platform in the world made possible by our Music Ecosystem comprised of "IP + Platform + Device + Service". In future, we will be bringing the live streaming concerts to all over the world including Hong Kong, Macau, India, the US and the Southeast Asian markets."

The HKAMF 2016 is pleased to receive wide support from traditional media and new media. Radio Television Hong Kong will support HKAMF 2016 as Host Broadcaster to videotape the show event and supply the live programme to all broadcasters, while LeMusic is appointed as Content Ecosystem sponsor. Major TV broadcasters in Hong Kong, including TVB, AsiaTV, nowTV, iCable and RTHKTV 31, RTHK Radio 2, as well as LeEco will live broadcast the show and DBCTV3, DBC and Phoenix TV will support the broadcast of the event. Other local electronic media supporting the event include Commercial Radio and Metro Broadcast.

The organiser also has the support of the following overseas media partners, namely Niconico from Japan, MBC+ from Korea, Astro, Kah Lai Toi from Malaysia, StarHub from Singapore, Jia Yu International and Golden TV from Taiwan, FairChild TV from Canada, with further support from Channel V, Yoshimoto Azio and the LeEco platforms. Hong Kong's own local TV networks extend their support internationally, which include nowTV international, iCable, TVB with its international channels namely TVBA, TVB USA and the World Channel to carry the programme.

The HKAMF 2016 show event is to be held on 18 March 2016 at Hall 5B&C of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre Hall from 7:30 p.m. The live broadcast will commence from 8:00 p.m. sharp.

Public may also show their support to the HKAMF 2016 by attending the show on 18 March 2016. Free tickets are open for online registration at www.hkamf.org from 00:00:00 on 25 February 2016 to 23:59:59 on 28 February 2016. The organiser will then conduct a computer random draw of 1,600 winners under the witness of auditors from Patrick Wong C.P.A. Limited. The result will be published in The Standard and Sing Tao Daily as well as on www.hkamf.org on 8 March 2016. Winners may collect 2 tickets each by coming to the office of IFPI (Hong Kong Group) Limited on 11 or 12 March 2016 from 10 am to 6 pm. (Trade Promotion Competition Licence Number: 46720).
