New York, NY (Top40 Charts) 15 year-old Bedfordshire songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Alfie Templeman has released his first ever video for his debut single "Like An Animal." Filmed in Templeman's home town of Carlton, the muted hues and derelict setting of "Like an Animal" are an ideal match for the song's minimalist bedroom pop aesthetic.
"We wanted to capture the energy of 'Like an Animal' in a very upbeat, energetic video..." writes Templeman. "I wanted to film in my hometown because it gives an insight to my surroundings and influences as well. And of course, the lion is the main focus here! Lions are cool and so is this song so two birds with one stone!"
The single "Like an Animal" recently premiered on Jack Saunders' Indie Show on BBC
Radio One. The EP has since been acclaimed by outlets such as
Clash Magazine, The Line of Best Fit, and DIY Magazine who writes that the record "fizzes with a youthful vigour and untamed energy." Templeman's debut EP Like An Animal is out now on revered independent label Chess Club; home to MØ and Sundara Karma and renowned for early releases from Wolf Alice, Jungle, and Mumford & Sons. Templeman first began releasing music at age 13, bringing life to fully formed tracks in between school classes. Templeman plays every instrument on the EP and produced the record himself - an homage to his DIY heroes
