NEW YORK (BASHIRI MUSIC INC.) - Jeff Gordon, former co-owner of Greene Street Recording Studio, music producer, and artist, would often run into Bashiri Johnson, percussionist to the stars, as Bashiri moved and grooved thru Greene Street Recording Studio.
Little did the two artists know, that they would reunite today under new, and uniquely creative circumstances.
The project Jeff and Bashiri have undertaken is called Art 'n Rhythm, a multi media offering of original artwork, spoken word, poetry, music, video and live performance. Art 'n Rhythm will be on display at the Motique Gallery Sept 30th thru Oct. 28th, 2006. Jeff Gordon's Artist Reception, for his exhibition called 'CERAMIC' and the Art 'n Rhythm CD Release, is Sat. Oct. 28th, 6-9pm, at The Motique Gallery in Brooklyn (www.motiquegallery.com/1-877-MOTIQUE). Jeff states, 'The inspiration for this exhibition comes from Bashiri Johnson - his music, his soul. When Bashiri suggested a collaborative show called Art 'n Rhythm I knew that the ceramic pieces I was doing and wanted to do could work in expressing this exuberant phrase.'
Jeff and Bashiri are extremely excited and passionate about their project, and that excitement shines in the heart and soul of their collaborations. The results of this uniquely creative project will be the first in a series of offerings from the pair, to the delight of art and music lovers globally.
