Damien Leith Releases New Album 'Roy: A Tribute To Roy Orbison'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Damien Leith Official Website) Damien Leith, one of Australia's most loved artists, will release his fifth studio album on 15th April 2011 through Sony Music Entertainment Australia.

ROY is a tribute to the late Roy Orbison and will be released to coincide with what would have been Roy Orbison's 75th birthday on April 23rd. It has been endorsed by the Orbison estate with Barbara Orbison, Roy's widow and President, Orbison Music, coming on board as executive producer to the album.

ROY was recorded in Nashville, Los Angeles and Sydney with some of the best music people in the business including international producers Damon Elliott (Beyonce, P!nk, Gwen Stefani, Macy Gray) and Marti Frederikson (Aerosmith, Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Faith Hill). Back in Sydney, Damien enlisted Australian producers Stuart Crichton (Kylie Minogue, Delta Goodrem, Guy Sebastian and Sugababes) and Wayne Connolly (Josh Pyke, The Vines, silverchair, Sarah Blasko).

The album will feature Roy's big hits including Only The Lonely, Dream Baby, Pretty Woman, Crying and more.

Roy Orbison has been a long and inspiring influence in Damien Leith's career. First introduced to Orbison's music by his father as a teenager, it became a special connection in 2006 when he performed CRYING on Australian Idol to rapturous feedback and a 'touchdown' moment with the judges.

'Roy Orbison, his soulful voice and dignified artistry, has touched millions of people across all generations becoming the soul of rock n roll. Today, I am very proud to pay tribute to a man who's work has had a direct and lasting influence on both my songwriting and my singing. Mercy!' says Damien Leith.

Following his win on Australian Idol Damien signed a record deal with Sony Music Australia and has since released four albums 'The Winners Journey' (No 1 ARIA album chart), 'Where We Land' (No 1 ARIA album chart), 'Catch the Wind' (No 2 ARIA album chart) and 'Remember June' released late 2009 (No 25 ARIA album chart). Damien took home an ARIA award in 2006 for Highest Selling Album, has 4 ARIA No 1 Chart Awards and been nominated for an MTV Award & a Helpmann Award.

ROY will be Damien's fifth album since signing to Sony Music. Damien is also an accomplished author, having released two books through Harper Collins, and is a columnist for The Punch.

Damien and his wife, Eileen have two sons and will soon welcome a new baby into the Leith household later this month.
