New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Ditto Music) - Ditto Music have achieved their eighth top 40 UK Single and first top 20 with '2 Minute Silence' charity release. On the 14th of November, charity single '2 Minute Silence' produced by the Royal British Legion and distributed by Ditto Music charted at number 20. Released on 7th November 2010, '2 Minute Silence' is in conjunction with the 2010 Poppy Appeal, with all proceeds from the single going towards furthering their work in supporting serving and ex-service personnel and their families.

To coincide with the track, The Royal British Legion also produced a video featuring David Cameron, Thom Yorke, Andy Murray, Martin Johnson, Bob Hoskins, David Tennant, Mark Ronson, Bruce Dickinson and the Saturdays, amongst others, as well as many British soldiers such as Corporal Simon Brown, who was wounded by a sniper whilst on duty in Basra, Iraq.

Due to the famous individuals featuring in the video, the Royal British Legion and Ditto Music were confident that this bonus material would be a strong incentive of purchase for customers, and so Ditto Music were able use their knowledge of digital distribution to market the single and utilize specialist sales techniques, to increase revenue stream and chart positioning.

When asked about the charity release Ditto Music, Vice President Jay Kerr had this to say 'We knew there would be much interest from the public and knew that we could take advantage of the excellent video, so with clever digital marketing and sales strategies we knew we could chart this single.'

Ditto Music, based in Liverpool, first achieved a UK Top 40 single in 2007 with British Pop-Punk band Koopa, and have also achieved this feat with several other unsigned artists and independent acts. They are still currently the only aggrigator for unsigned artists that provide services nessessary for chart placement.

As distribution specialists, Ditto Music utilise the tools of digital aggregation to help independent bands break into the charts. Working side by side with artists Ditto Music plan digital marketing campaigns to maximize the potential of each release.

'2 Minute Silence' was released on the 7th of November and reached number 20 in the UK charts, beating such acts as Tine Tempah and The Wanted, raising money and awareness for the Poppy Appeal. Ditto Music do not take any commission all money raised will be past straight to the charity.
