Indie Band Smoke Season Releases Energetic New Video For "Opaque"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Indie-Americana duo, Smoke Season has released a visually stunning new music video in support of their new single, "Opaque." The group, comprised of Gabrielle Wortman and Jason Rosen, have estasblished a name for themselves on the indie scene with their unique blend of folk inspired riffs and electronic anthems. "Opaque" is the second single off their latest EP, Hot Coals Cold Souls, now available on iTunes.

Smoke Season is carried by Wortman's fierce vocal performances and heavy piano framework backed by Rosen's intricate guitar licks and ethereal vocal harmonies. The duo manages to keep a warm presence in their recordings despite the electronic elements constantly present. The EP has already garnered the attention from several press outlets including LA Weekly, Los Angeles Magazine and Buzzbands.LA. With the release of "Opaque," the pair is eager to show its fans the visual side of their artistic vision.

The music video was directed by Scott Fleishman of APLUSFILMZ; a team known for their VMA nomination (SchoolBoy Q) and their work with Kendrick Lamar, Sza, Talib Kewli and Murs. The video is a narrative that focuses on a love triangle displayed metaphorically through dance and body movement. Their vision was to create a sequence of images that could stand alone as art, but when merged depicts a love story through symbolism. The footage pulls from a stunning array of underwater shots, dance, colored smoke, milk, masks, light and more - which, after the "Badlands" video, further distinguishes Smoke Season's cinematic flair.

Formed in 2013, Smoke Season's music is a patchwork of styles woven expertly into cohesive soundscapes. It is this unique sound that helped them independently release and subsequently sell thousands of their first EP, Signals released in 2013. While initially beginning their project as an experimental group, Smoke Season has used their experience recording their recent EP, Hot Coals Cold Souls, to help define their sound. This album enlisted the help of percussionist Christopher Roberts and bassist Gabe Davis, as well as producers David Burris and Kyle Draper (Evan Mellows).

Quickly gaining ground on the indie scene, Smoke Season has showcased at Sundance Film Festival, AXS TV, Bite Size TV, and a completed a sold out residency at Los Angeles' The Echoplex are just a few of the notable appearances they have made. This help to earn them the notoriety of being dubbed as the "Artist of the Month" by the underground powerhouse The Deli Magazine. Later this month, Smoke Season will head to NYC to showcase at the CMJ Music Festival.

With a brand new sound that is causing a stir on the scene, Smoke Season has made it clear they are here to stay. Stay updated on the latest news from Smoke Season by visiting their site, www.SmokeSeason.com, and don't miss their "Opaque" music video out on YouTube.
