LOS ANGELES (www.owenave.com) - Larry Rust, former vocalist/keyboarder for the legendary Acid Rock performers Iron Butterfly (In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida), announces the upcoming release for a powerful solo project entitled, 'Obsession'. Larry Rust was the featured vocalist and keyboard player with Iron Butterfly for six years, from 1999 until December 2005, extensively touring the world with the group, representing their classic signature sound. In December of 2005, Rust left the group in order to finish a long awaited solo project and to devote time for developing artists. Rust has joined Lonewolf Productions as their lead producer while also heading his own label, Owen Avenue Records, in California. His responsibilities at Lonewolf also include A&R, as well as overseeing some of the challenges of developing a rich, live tour presentation.

Despite being physically separated from Butterfly, Larry is present in spirit, 'I wish them well in all they do in the future.', states Rust. Larry has toured all over Europe, the United States and Chile with The Group and is featured in many press ads of Iron Butterfly as well as Concert Reviews. Upcoming releases feature Larry in a new live DVD of Iron Butterfly filmed in Holland in June 2004 during the Arrow Classic Rock Festival, coming soon; Live with Iron Butterfly in a Basil Switzerland concert filmed Summer 2005, for an exclusive DVD of Iron Butterfly to be released in mid 2006; Special edition DVD, "Living Legends of Rock and Roll", live at the Itchycoo Park Festival, 1999 and Larry is also featured in the Live Full Length Tribute DVD from Itchycoo Park, "Rock 'n' Roll Greats - Iron Butterfly" .

'Obsession', is an offering of both old and new, crossing the boundaries of classic rock, touching Bluesy and light R&B combinations with tight productions of funk, all the points which make Rock & Roll what it truly is, Americana at its best. The title track, 'Obsession', offers a real look into what it takes to love and how that love is rewarded, inspiring an even deeper commitment. No quickie here! Obsession will be independently released on Owen Avenue Records this summer and is available now for review and downloading at Larry Rust's "Obsession" on Airplay Direct as well as the Owen Avenue site, which also hosts Larrys version of the Iron Butterfly phenomenon, In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida. Fans may also view six years of Iron Butterfly tour photos, featuring Larry Rust.

Larry Rust became involved in music at the age of 8, beginning with classical training for 7 years. At the age of 14 he was playing with bands and from the beginning, developing his Midi and Midi Computer Sequencing skills. He created sound libraries for the S1000 and Emu Emulator II for Northstar Productions; was awarded 2nd place in the Billboard Songwriters Contest; contributed work to The Hollywood Film Library and he has done scoring for film & TV including shows for The History Channel.
