James Holden Announces DJ-KiCKS Mix Due Out In May

New York, NY (TOP40 Charts/ Atjazz Record Company) -- Over the last 15 years, !K7 Records' DJ-KiCKS series has established itself as the compilation of choice for some of dance music's greatest talents. By tapping a variety of artists at pivotal points in their careers, allowing them to explore a variety of ideas and requiring an exclusive track, each DJ-KiCKS exposes listeners to the rich history and future of electronic music. This spring, !K7 follows Juan MacLean's scorching House-flavoured DJ-KiCKS with a compilation from James Holden.

On May 24th progressive prodigy James Holden breaks from stadium beats � and his origin myth - to explore techno's ambient, jazzy range. Since his breakthrough at age 19 in 1999, Holden has remixed everyone from Madonna and Britney Spears to Depeche Mode and New Order and runs his own record label, Border Community. For his DJ-KiCKS, Holden used a PC, Traktor and some basic gear to push the boundaries of trance and his imagination. The result splices improvised and deliberately imperfect jam sessions into an acid-tinged soundscape. His unique track, "Triangle Folds" embodies his and !K7's symbiotic, experimental spirit.
