NEW YORK (Foxidol Official Website) - Filipino-American Jasmine Trias was booted out of America talent search American Idol Wednesday night (Thursday in Manila). Trias, 17, who lives in Hawaii, was among the top 12 finalists in the Fox TV competition. She was chosen from among 72,000 contestants from all over the United States that auditioned for the 2004 contest. Two other finalists, Fantasia Barrino and Diana DeGarmo are scheduled to compete in next week's two-hour finale. The judges reportedly told Trias she couldn't quite match Whitney Houston on singing "Saving All My Love for You." Contestants for American Idol need to get the most number of telephone call-in or text-message votes to win.
