Jazz Superstars Eric Marienthal & Brian Bromberg Play The Festival Of Arts With Special Guest Jeff Lorber On August 6, 2011
LAGUNA BEACH, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Festival of Arts Official Website) On Saturday, August 6th, the Laguna Beach Festival of Arts will enthusiastically introduce modern jazz paragons Eric Marienthal, Brian Bromberg and special guest Jeff Lorber, a performance that promises to take the 2011 special event series "Jazz on the Green" to new heights.

Eric Marienthal is one of the most recorded sax players in contemporary jazz. As part of Chick Corea's Elektric Band, Eric traveled every corner of the globe playing jazz, and his solo albums are favorites of many of the most knowledgeable contemporary musicians.

Brian Bromberg is a bassist, composer and producer who has released some of the most critically acclaimed instrumental albums in contemporary jazz. From acoustic bass to electric bass, Piccolo bass to synthesizer bass, Brian brings the art of bass playing to a new level where the bass moves beyond simply being a rhythm instrument and brings it up front to be the lead voice.

Special guest, keyboardist and composer Jeff Lorber will join Marienthal and Bromberg. Master of the keys Jeff Lorber is one of the busiest musicians in smooth jazz history. Lorber was a pioneering figure in the movement known as "jazz fusion" - a marriage of traditional jazz with elements of rock, R&B, funk and other electrified sounds, which would eventually become known as contemporary jazz. He garners extremely high merits and accolades of fans, critics and fellow musicians alike.

All three are Grammy Award-nominated musicians who have contributed significantly to what jazz is known to be today. This jazz trifecta is sure to be a highlight of the summer.

"We are truly honored to have the opportunity to showcase Eric, Brian and Jeff at the Festival of Arts," said Susan Davis, Director of Special Events for the Festival of Arts. "Having these three extraordinary musicians together on one stage is a rare opportunity for jazz enthusiasts and Festival guests."

Eric Marienthal, Brian Bromberg and special guest Jeff Lorber will perform on Saturday, August 6th from 1pm-3pm on stage at the Festival green. There is no extra cost beyond admission to the Festival of Arts for guests to enjoy the performance.

Also on Saturday, there will be a Celebrity Meet & Greet with cast members from the hit soap "The Bold and the Beautiful" from 7-8pm to sign autographs and take photos with fans before they take in a performance of the Pageant of the Masters. Come on out to meet them!

Festival admission prices are $7 for general admission and $4 for seniors and students. For general information, call 949-494-1145 or visit the website at www.LagunaFestivalofArts.org. The event is located at 650 Laguna Canyon Road, Laguna Beach, California. Proceeds support the arts and art education in and about Laguna Beach.
