New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Velour
Music Group) - On Tuesday, May 13, Melissa Errico will perform songs from her new album 'Lullabies and Wildflowers', at the Tribeca branch of Barnes & Noble bookstores. The performance will be accompanied by an album signing.
Errico's 'Lullabies & Wildflowers' is an assembly of eclectic songs that reflect the journey of a new mother from the first moment of revelation through the many late nights of rocking her child. It is those hours of night and dawn that Errico wanted to explore musically: lulling softly with lullabies, whimsical, sensual and reflective, with gently vibrant rhythms and lyrics that celebrate this joyful time in life. The show will be a perfect adult night out for anyone who would like to have sweeter dreams!
'Lullabies and Wildflowers' is a milestone in an already incredible career. Errico has triumphed at New York's most prestigious theaters as well as The Kennedy Center (Sondheim Celebration) and The Hollywood Bowl. She fronted her own jazz quartet at Birdland and a 100-piece orchestra led by Michel Legrand for an upcoming cd produced by Phil Ramone. She was nominated for a Best Actress Tony for the Legrand-scored musical Amou.
In addition to starring in several roles in television and in film, Errico has solidified her reputation in recent years as one of this generations best interpreters of classic musicals, having starred in Camelot, My Fair Lady and Sound of Music to acclaim in Los Angeles, and turned Finian's Rainbow into a runaway New York hit. Her career began with a renowned flirtatious star debut in Kurt Weill's One Touch of Venus at City Center. She currently tours the USA with symphonies, singing repertoire from Rodgers and Hammerstein to Wicked. She has starred on Broadway in six musicals including My Fair Lady, Les Miserables, and Cole Porter's High Society. Her critically-acclaimed debut CD 'Blue Like That' (EMI) was produced by industry legend Arif Mardin.
