IBIZA, Spain (Top40 Charts/ International Music Summit) - From the 28th - 30th May 2008 the first ever International Music Summit will take place in the home of electronic music...Ibiza. Hailed as the 'G8 of Music Conferences' and fronted by Pete Tong, the IMS promises a fresh approach to the industry standard music conference. At this time of momentous change in the music industry, the IMS has been created by leading industry professionals with an emphasis on enlisting fire breathing panels to excite and bring together key opinion formers within our industry.

Aptly subtitled 'Back to Business', the conference will prelude the infamous opening parties of Ibiza, with 3 days of intense business programming, networking and activities for 300 delegates. At no other conference will you find such intimate surroundings in which to actually meet all other (299) delegates. 'Back to Business may seem like the antithesis of the opening party weekend of Ibiza, but for those in electronic music, business is never too far from home,' says Ben Turner, one of the founders of the International Music Summit.

Pete Tong, BBC Radio 1 legend, is clearly excited about the long overdue arrival of this unique conference in Ibiza: 'I am proud to be launching the IMS at such a critical time for the music industry. This is what we all love doing for a living, but we can all get better at what we do and learn from each other. IMS offers the glamour and glitz of my favourite party island...but with a back to business ethos leading into the big Ibiza opening party weekend.'

Meticulous planning will ensure delegates are able to attend each and every panel. Whilst diverse, all will tap into the key issues of the moment for music industry professionals: ranging from 'The Future of Live Music, How to Stop the Bubble Bursting?' to 'Music in Film TV and Ads, Sync or Swim?'. Put simply, our key note speeches will be like Steve Jobs media announcements: what is announced here will shape our future!

Showcasing the innovations in live production for electronic music, on the first day of the conference, Tom Middleton will create the IMS anthem in a live 1 hour recording. The following day, the track will be remixed, again live, by another renowned producer, before being passed over to the man of the conference, Pete Tong, to be synchronised into with visuals from a leading TV show.

Hosted at three stunning locations across the party island, the International Music Summit will take place in the exquisite surroundings of the Hotel Atzaro, Hotel Fenicia and Hotel Pikes, each taking their turn to become the hub for the Summit. Whilst 'Back to business' remains the order of the day, the evening parties will exude the glamour of Ibiza at its best, including the Pioneer cocktail party and the Grand Finale event hosted by Radio 1 DJ Rob da Bank and Pete Tong, guaranteeing the very best in the latest electronic music. Line ups will be confirmed shortly.
Focusing on high-end business dealings, the International Music Summit offers music professionals unparalleled networking opportunities, and a chance to influence the very issues shaping the future of our industry.
