Melissa Otero Releases Her Break-Out Single "Angels And Demons" On iTunes And VEVO
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ JMD Distribution) Melissa Otero is raring to conquer new heights with the release of her newest single "Angels and Demons". With the aim of sharing her unique gift of artistry and musicality to different parts of the world, Melissa opted to release her single in digital format that can be readily downloaded via iTunes. With the power of viral videos to make people stop, look, and listen, the music video of "Angels and Demons" is also now available on VEVO.

As the cliché goes, there's a fine line between...Angels and Demons. Either one can make or break you. Sink or swim, stay or sway... you can feel power from two opposing forces. Melissa Otero's "Angels and Demons" may have that same pendulum effect on your emotions - dark, brooding and sexy one moment, inspiring, tender, and naive on the next. "Angels and Demons" was produced and musically arranged by Stefan Moessle of Secret Sounds.

In April 2011, Melissa embarked on a cross-country tour to promote "Angels and Demons", visiting several northern states in America and showcasing other new tracks as well. The promotion of her new songs was extremely effective as "Angels and Demons" was later selected to be a part of the Sonicbids Indie Showcase on US Airways as a featured track.

Born in New Jersey and raised in Puerto Rico, Melissa decided she wanted to become a professional singer at the tender age of 9, after watching Gloria Estefan's homecoming concert. She followed the road to her dreams, but made sure she was packed and ready for the long road ahead. She trained under vocal coaches Sandra Quintana, Mike St. Pierre, and Don Lawrence, who has worked with stars like Lady Gaga and Whitney Houston. She also took acting, piano, and dance classes for over ten years. All of this experience helped her first single "My First Everything" to become extremely successful. The single, which was released in 2006, was #1 for two consecutive weeks on Hot 96 in Portland, Oregon. Fuelled by the excellent feedback that critics gave her first single, Melissa began to work on her first album. In 2008, she released this album entitled "My Spirit" which included the single "10:40pm" that became a hit in Europe, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and Colombia. Because of these successes, Melissa was approached by Karate America of Little Chute, WI and asked to go on her first tour as part of a benefit concert series for the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. After successfully finishing this tour, Melissa continued to perform at local venues in New York City and New Jersey for the remainder of the year.

Melissa Otero forged on in the summer of 2010 doing promotional tours in Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Florida, New Jersey, and New York where she performed at festivals such as Pompano Beach Latin Fest, Carnaval de Loiza Aldea, Carnaval del Barrio, and PR Day Parade; plus did the rounds of countless television appearances and radio interviews. While touring in Miami, Melissa met famed record producer Clay Ostwald, who previously worked with Gloria Estefan, Melissa's long-time idol and inspiration. Fate seemed to have brought them together. Clay and Melissa produced a new version of her single "Phantom of My Heart" in both English and Spanish. "Phantom" went on to be a huge success in the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and Florida.

Melissa is currently still writing and recording new material to complete her album due for release this year. A summer tour is currently in the works which will include visits to Wisconsin, New York, New Jersey and Europe. "Angels and Demons" is just the beginning... Taking cue from one of Gloria Estefan's songs, Melissa is on her way, on her feet, standing up and making it all happen!
