NEW
YORK (www.kameilmadison.com) - It was announced today that rap
phenomenon Kameil Madison's "
Rock Your Body" will appear on the most
recent Dove ad campaign promoting its fresh scent. The song "Rock Your
Body was changed to
Fresh Your Body to better align with Dove's
marketing and advertising agendas and will debut on Thursday, February
10th during the top rated NBC reality show The Apprentice hosted by New
York real estate mogul Donald Trump. "I'm just excited to have one of
my songs appear with such a reputable company as Dove and I'm extra
excited that it is airing at such a high profiled time slot and on such
a dynamic show as The Apprentice, " states Kameil.
Through her
manager, Adreana Shavers and talent scout Luke Eddins, "
Rock Your Body"
which is from Kameil's debut album "Unlady-Like" was shopped to Dove in
early January and accepted. "We are all pleased at this milestone and
Kameil made my job easy because she is just a great rapper", states her
manager Adreana Shavers. This is not the first time Kameil Madison's
songs have received national recognition. Earlier this year song "Ooh
Ah" appeared in the Wayans Brothers smash hit "White Chicks" and her
music has also been featured on Lifetime network's original movie "Sex
and a Single Mom", FX network's "The Shield".
This Michigan
native grew up listening to artists such as
Stephanie Mills, Keith
Sweat, Anita Baker, Gladys Knight, and many other incredible artists.
As a child she fell in love with the music of
Janet Jackson, Brandy,
Xscape, Aaliyah, and many others. Her family definitely knew that this
young child was destined for a career in the music industry. At the age
of 14, she went to a nearby recording studio (House Of Treez), where
she met longtime producer and friend, DX The Flex. Although she started
out singing she felt that she was finally on the right track. She then
took a little time off and began listening to more rap than she usually
did.
She started listening to artists such as Lil' Kim,
Notorious B.I.G., Missy Elliott, and Foxy Brown. Kameil then started
mixing rap into her R&B songs until one day it was more rap and a
lot less R&B. She was in love. Rapping was a genre that fit her
perfectly. She has the look, the attitude, and definitely the skills.
Kameil has accomplished a lot at the age of 20 and is definitely taking
the music industry by storm! Look out for Kameil's debut album
"Unlady-Like" in stores and online at
