NEW
YORK (MingaMusic.com) The music of neo-soul singer/songwriter and
iTunes favorite Minga will soon be heard on the airwaves of New York
Chill station WQCD/CD101.9. All five tracks from Minga's
critically-hailed "Flipside" CD will air on the station's current and
future playlists and be spotlighted on WQCD/CD101.9's
TheGrooveBoutique, America's first nationally syndicated smooth jazz
radio mix show.
"Very impressive, original, and, well,
excellent!" said WQCD's Weekday Morning DJ and host of
TheGrooveBoutique, Rafe Gomez, when asked about "Flipside." " All
five songs in the mix!"
"I'm thrilled that my music has found a
home on such an innovative radio station. Their programming style is
fabulous, and TheGrooveBoutique has quickly become one of my favorite
shows," said Minga.
WQCD/CD101.9 is the first major market U.S.
radio station to air an eclectic mix of chill electronica, world music,
pop and smooth jazz. TheGrooveBoutique recently received kudos from
Billboard Magazine and The Wall Street Journal for ingenuity in
programming and marketing to its young, upscale audience. The station
is owned and operated by one of the nation's most respected diversified
communications companies, Emmis Communications (NASDAQ: EMMS).
"Flipside,"
Minga's debut CD, charted on Amazon.com's "Early Adopters" Top 20 after
only two weeks at retail. Minga has since garnered rave reviews in
publications across the U.S. and abroad, including the San Francisco
Examiner, The San
Diego Union-Tribune, Cleveland Free Times, Music
Connection, and Germany's Sonic Soul. Minga is currently writing songs
for a new CD slated for release in later this year.
