PITTSBURGH, PA. (Top40 Charts/ AutismLink) - Summer is about to heat up in Mt. Lebanon this August, as LEBO (Lifestyles Enriched By Opportunity) has announced ULTRAparty, a street fest for civic minded partiers between the ages of 22-35 that will encompass a three-block section of Washington Road.

ULTRAparty, sponsored by Miller Brewing, will feature one of Pittsburgh's favorite 80's cover bands, Velveeta, and will debut on Friday August 3, 2007 from 8 p.m. to midnight. A three-block area of Washington Road from Cedar Boulevard to Castle Shannon Boulevard will be closed to traffic from 8 p.m. to midnight following Mt. Lebanon's family-oriented First Friday festival.

Organized by LEBO (Lifestyles Enriched by Opportunity), a group of young professionals who envision making Mt. Lebanon a regional destination for a younger demographic, the event will benefit the Autism Center of Pittsburgh. Founded by AutismLink and operated by parents of children with autism spectrum disorders, the Autism Center has been providing support and resources to local families for eight years and is the largest autism support organization in Pennsylvania.

"Mt. Lebanon has so much to offer in the way of dining, shopping and entertainment - we want to show it off," says ULTRAParty chair Anne Fleming Babish. "We hope to provide a great time for everyone and also to raise money for the Autism Center, because autism is an issue that is on the minds of people our age."

Mt. Lebanon's police, commercial districts, public information and public works departments, along with Medical Rescue Team South, are all providing support for the event.

The event welcomes people of all ages, but only those over the age of 21 who purchase event wristbands will be permitted to purchase beer.

Babish credits Shadyside businessman Doc Mendelson, founder of "Jam on Walnut" for sharing his expertise to help launch what LEBO hopes will become a similarly popular event. Area businesses have signed on as sponsors, and there will be a raffle with items donated by the shops on Washington Road.

"We are delighted to partner with the folks at LEBO," says Cindy Waeltermann, director of the Autism Center. "Not only does this event promote community spirit, but it promotes autism awareness and allows this group of young professionals to help bring the important issue of autism to the forefront."
