LONDON, UK (BMG
Music Publishing UK) - Dave Stewart has extended his long-standing relationship with BMG
Music Publishing Ltd. through a new long-term music publishing agreement, it was announced today by Paul Curran, Group Managing Director, BMG
Music Publishing Ltd.
Stewart first signed to BMG in 1982 along with fellow Eurythmic Annie Lennox at the start of their spectacular success together.
In addition to his multiplatinum global success with Eurythmics, the music legend's career has seen many exciting collaborations and projects as varied as film scores (1984, Lily Was Here and his recent collaboration with Mick Jagger on the Alfie film soundtrack) to a musical based on Barbarella. In recent years, he has continued to co-write with many leading artists such as Gwen Stefani, Anastasia, Shakira and t.A.T.u.
Now based in Los Angeles, Stewart is currently working with Annie Lennox on new songs for Eurythmics releases planned for later this year. He also has a joint venture label through Jimmy Iovine's Interscope label and is finishing an album for the label with new act Platinum Weird, which features chart-topping songwriter Kara Dioguardia.
Commented Paul Curran (Group Managing Director, BMG Music Publishing):'The word unique is over-used, but in Dave's case it is entirely appropriate. I am delighted to have renewed our deal with Dave and look forward to continuing to represent him.'
