Houston, TX (Music World Entertainment) -
Music World Entertainment (MWE), the music management and recording label helmed by Mathew Knowles, has announced the forthcoming release of a new children's rap album, "Kid's Rap Radio, Volumes I & II" which features child-friendly lyrics and arrangements of popular rap and hip hop singles geared towards children ages 2-10. Kids Rap
Radio will be released domestically on December 5, 2006 and is available at all retail outlets, online and at Wal-Mart through a strategic alliance with MWE.
"Kid's Rap Radio, Volume 1 & 2" will debut as a double-disc collection on December 5, 2006 and includes versions of "Wait The Whisper Song", Mannie Fresh's "Go DJ", D4L's "Laffy Taffy" and "Touch It." The introductory release includes performances by two of the world's youngest rappers, Lil Max$o, and Steve Wash, formerly of "The Wayne Brady Show" and "The Parkers." As new volumes of the series are released the range of performers will also continue to expand. Also arriving in stores on Dec 5th is "Kid's Rap Christmas," just in time for the holidays, which includes fun-filled versions of "Christmas in Hollis" and "The Christmas Rap." Knowles two-year-old grandson Juelz Smith (Solange's son and Beyoncés nephew), will serve as the face and spokesperson of Kids Rap Radio.
"We are truly excited about the new album release of 'Kid's Rap Radio'," says Music World Entertainment President and CEO, Mathew Knowles. "This is the first-ever hip-hop compilation album geared toward youth and it is being released on the Music World label. I wanted my two-year-old grandson Juelz to have the opportunity to be able to enjoy rap music in a fun way. With the hip-hop industry constantly being scrutinized for lyrical content, 'Kid's Rap Radio' allows young hip-hop fans to be positively influenced by alternate, kid-friendly lyrics songs heard on the radio. The messages are positive, there's no profanity, and younger hip-hop fans will enjoy these versions of today's hottest rap songs. With the demographic age range being 2-10 years old, having Juelz as the spokesperson for the album series was the perfect fit to target that age group." It's important to all of us at Music World Entertainment, that today's youth be able to enjoy popular rap songs without the parental advisory warnings and that we are able to contribute by sending a positive message."
"My dad has always disliked negative / vulgar lyrical content in music," says Knowles youngest daughter, Solange. "I became so excited when he came up with the idea of having my son, Juelz as the spokesperson for Kids Rap Radio. My son, Juelz, mimics the rap songs he hears on the radio and loves music. It concerned me to think that by his picking up on the words so easily, he may actually repeat words that are not appropriate for him to say."
"My nephew is so amazing when it comes his natural impromptu rap performances," says proud aunt, Beyoncé. "He's still at that innocent age, where kids unintentionally mimic everything they hear. It's important that children not be exposed to things unsuitable for a young child. Adult music is for adults, and now Kids Rap Radio is for the kids.
