Pop Icon Adam Ant Releases "Col Zombie", The First Single From His First Album In 17 Years, "Adam Ant Is The Blueblack Hussar In Marrying The Gunner's Daughter"
London, UK (Top40 Charts/ Chrome PR) After almost six weeks of sold-out shows in the USA, legendary pop icon Adam Ant is debuting "Cool Zombie" today, the first track from the forthcoming release "Adam Ant is the Blueblack Hussar in Marrying the Gunner's Daughter", his first album in 17 years (Releasing on January 22, 2013). And, with its swampy, bluesy flavor, the song is unlike anything that fans have ever heard.

"Cool Zombie" is available through iTunes (https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/cool-zombie-single/id572331718), Amazon, Spotify and Rdio.

Many people know that the GRAMMY-nominated artist, one of the most recognized faces of the 80s often known for his global hits including "Goody Two Shoes", "Stand and Deliver", "Strip" and "Wonderful", lived in Los Angeles for several years while pursuing film roles. But most people never knew that later in life he quietly bought a house and lived in the small town of Dayton, Tennessee. "Cool Zombie" speaks to this aspect of his life.

"I lived in Tennessee for a couple of years," Adam explained. "I enjoyed that. My daughter, Lilly Caitlin, was born there. I was going to be like a house husband, so I was with her and changing nappies. That's the hardest work I've ever done, the child-rearing thing. But as Lily got older, I started to think about music. I missed it - the creative process and the live side of it."

"Cool Zombie" is one of 17 songs on the new album that creates a musical autobiography about things that have happened in Adam's life and things that interest him.

Adam has always been a musical chameleon who is no stranger to musical experimentation. From his early punk hits including "Plastic Surgery" and his post-punk heyday of "Goody Two Shoes" to his pop hit "Room At The Top" and the adult-contemporary anthem "Wonderful", Adam is exploring yet another new musical path. As he did on his landmark "Kings of the Wild Frontier" album, Adam again looks to America - this time with the musical lens aimed toward the American south.

The song is also arranged in a pattern that is beyond the traditional path of verse/chorus, verse/chorus. The horn section of his post-punk period is long gone, but Adam maintains his signature style with two drummers and layers of classic vocal patterns/yelps that feel reminiscent of a tribal chant.

Adam and his band, "The Good, The Mad & The Lovely Posse", are currently doing a UK and European tour, but watch for American dates to be announced soon.
