NEW YORK (Billboard) - A head-spinning array of performers, including the Black Crowes, Mos Def, Ween, Loretta Lynn and Taj Mahal, are confirmed to appear Seattle's 31st annual Bumbershoot festival, taking place Aug. 31-Sept. 3 at the 74-acre Seattle Center. The event kicks off Aug. 31 with the Hip-Hop 101 showcase, featuring Mos Def, Dilated Peoples and Jurassic 5. Other confirmed performers include Marshall Crenshaw, Dave Alvin and the Guilty Men, Stephen Malkmus, Meshell Ndegeocello, Neko Case, Cat Power, Low, Galactic, David Lee Roth, Rufus Wainwright, King Sunny Ade and his African Beats, Jon Brion, the Funky Meters and the Rollins Band. In addition, the So Many Roads tour, featuring Ratdog, Rusted Root, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe and more, will assimilate into Bumbershoot on Sept. 2. Tickets for Bumbershoot go on sale Friday through the event's official Web site.
