Sony Classical Releases X-men: First Class Soundtrack With Music By Henry Jackman
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Sony Classical) Sony Classical is pleased to announce the release of the original motion picture soundtrack of X-MEN: FIRST CLASS available digitally on May 31st and on CD on June 28th. Henry Jackman has composed an exciting accompaniment to the action in this film, the eagerly awaited prequel to the blockbuster X-Men series.

In composing for a movie in a high-profile series - it follows X-Men (2000), X-Men 2: X-Men United (2003), X-Men 3: The Last Stand (2006) and X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) - Jackman landed his biggest commission to date and has the talent and experience for this task.

"The sheer scope of the film and Matthew Vaughn's uninhibited sensibility allowed me to unleash what I hope is an exciting score," stated Jackman.

X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, which has received some of the strongest reviews of the year, brings together the epic scale and action of a summer blockbuster with a character-driven story that unveils the beginning of the X-Men saga - and a secret history of the Cold War and our world at the brink of nuclear Armageddon. As the first class discovers, harnesses, and comes to terms with their formidable powers, alliances are formed that will shape the eternal war between the heroes and villains of the X-Men universe. Like all great X-Men stories, X-MEN: FIRST CLASS takes on ambitious themes and issues while offering a rich and personal look at an unusual superhero team.

Henry Jackman previously collaborated with X-MEN: FIRST CLASS director Matthew Vaughn, having written the score for "Kick-Ass." Jackman's other film scores include "Gulliver's Travels," "Monsters vs. Aliens" (DreamWorks Animation), and "Henry IV."

Prior to his film music career, Jackman spent several years in the record industry, collaborating with producer Trevor Horn on the Art of Noise album "The Seduction of Claude Debussy." Jackman also worked with Seal, co-writing and producing "This Could Be Heaven" for the motion picture "The Family Man." This gained the attention of prominent film composers Hans Zimmer and John Powell, and Jackman received additional music credits on their scores to: "The Dark Knight," "The Da Vinci Code," "Kung Fu Panda," "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest," "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End", "Hancock," "It's Complicated," "The Holiday," and "The Simpsons Movie." His upcoming projects include "Winnie the Pooh" (Walt Disney Animation Studios) and "Puss in Boots" (DreamWorks Animation).
