NEW YORK (KOCH Records) - Xtravaganza Recordings/KOCH Records is pleased to announce the first artist album by legendary DJ/Producer Alex Gold. "Back From A Break" will be released on September 20, 2005. He was among the pioneers on Ibiza and through his label Xtravaganza, he released some of the scene's most emotive anthems. Incredibly, Gold has been involved with 55 UK top 40 hits (including two Number 1's), selling 5 million in combined record sales worldwide. Chicane's "Saltwater" (now featured on the Irish Tourism TV Commercial broadcast internationally), and Chicane featuring Bryan Adam's "Don't Give Up" are just two of these songs.

Additionally, Gold has worked with hit makers including Prince, Bryan Adams, Phil Oakey (from the Human League), Chuck D, Agnelli & Nelson, and Marie Brenhan (Enya's sister). Gold is also the only DJ/producer who has held a residency at the world's largest and most respected club, Privilege, in Ibiza for 5 consecutive years.

In 2002, after experiencing a nasty, near-fatal paragliding accident off the coast of Thailand, Alex's back was left shattered and his body and career immobile. Alex was forced to take a two year break - 18-months of intense physical therapy and hospitalization - after which Gold channeled all of his emotions into his first passion: music.

Alex continued to work, remixing Annie Lennox's "Into the West," her Oscar and Grammy Award-winning song from "The Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King." Driven by a deep, moving break beat, the "Into the West" remix features Lennox's mesmerizing, ethereal voice hovering above intense, dynamic layers of symphonic sounds.

"Back From A Break" is an album overflowing with deep, real, raw emotion, as can be expected, dodging from energetic break beats to lush Balearic ambiance, eerie vocals to uplifting electronica, this is an album where there's something for all. The title track "Back From A Break" pounds its message through, celebrating life whereas "Energy Bomb" has a much moodier, yet positive undertone. "Stranded in Paradise" a melodic big room trance track - Gold wrote these lyrics during his days in a Thai hospital. "Foreign Shore" is a catchy vocal tune, written in Thailand followed closely by "LA Today," featuring Phil Oakey from the Human League.

All in all, "Back From A Break" is a heartfelt portrayal of Gold's emotions, both positive and negative, during his ups and downs of the past few years. There's no doubt the dance music world is experiencing the monumental comeback of Alex Gold.
