PHILADELPHIA, PA. (Philadelphia International Records) - "Lemonade," the new, official theme song for Alex's Lemonade Stand, is now available for purchase online and in stores. Debuted last month to a crowd of supporters and sponsors at Alex's Original Stand in Wynnewood, PA, the song tells the delicate story of Alex and her cancer-fighting crusade while enabling the public to make a financial contribution to her cause by purchasing the CD.
Music icon Kenny Gamble - half of the legendary Gamble and Huff songwriting duo that gave birth to The Sound of Philadelphia in the '70s, generating the second largest R&B/Soul music catalog in the world - and renowned songwriter Bunny Sigler, wrote and produced the song especially for Alex.
Inspired by her life and her lemonade stand, it is the songwriters' hope and expectation that the universal language of music will rapidly increase widespread awareness of Alex's cause, energize current supporters and engage new ones.
"We have every expectation that this song will significantly further Alex's cause and galvanize the public around the issue of childhood cancer," Gamble said.
"It will create an environment in which thousands of people, without even knowing it, will be harmonizing to the melody of Alex's motivational memory simultaneously."
Gamble's words speak volumes given his international acclaim and music industry expertise. Over the years, he and music partner Leon Huff - co-founders of Philadelphia International Records - have written and produced a multitude of Billboard chart toppers, number one hits and instantly recognizable classics, including "If You Don't Know Me By Now," "Me and Mrs. Jones," "Love Train," "Then Came You," "Love, Need and Want You," "Close the Door," and "For the Love of Money." It is reported that a Gamble-Huff song is played every 13.5 minutes somewhere around the world. The Gamble-Huff catalog of music boasts more than 175 gold and platinum albums and features countless classics that the duo wrote and produced for many of the nation's top-selling recording artists, including Teddy Pendergrass, The O'Jays, The Jacksons, Patti LaBelle, Lou Rawls and Dionne Warwick.
"We are thrilled that Philadelphia International Records has so generously put Alex's story to music," said Alex's mother, Liz Scott. "We are extremely touched that two legendary songwriters like Kenny Gamble and Bunny Sigler would put their talents behind creating a theme song for Alex's Lemonade Stand. The lemonade song tells her story in a way that is both fun and inspiring. Alex would have loved it!"
The theme song is being brought to life all summer long through live performances at a variety of Alex's Lemonade Stand events nationwide by vocalist Carly - the newest addition to Philly International. Additionally, the growing number of Alex's Lemonade Stand supporters in cities across the country will be collectively encouraging the general public to purchase the CD to help support the mission behind it.

Lemonade
Lemonade, Alex's lemonade
You got it made when you're drinking lemonade
I like lemonade, Alex's lemonade
You got it made when you're drinking lemonade
This is the story
About a brave, sweet, little girl
Her eyes were blue,
And a head full of curls
Even though the doctor
Said she was sick as she could be
She gave all the money she had
To find a cure for you and me
Lemonade, Alex's lemonade
You got it made when you're drinking lemonade
I like lemonade, Alex's lemonade
You got it made when you're drinking lemonade
People all over the land
Heard what Alex was trying to do
They sent cards and letters
Saying, "Alex, we wanna help you"
This year will be better,
Better than the year before
If we keep on giving,
I'm sure we'll find a cure
Lemonade, Alex's lemonade
You got it made when you're drinking lemonade
I like lemonade, Alex's lemonade
You got it made when you're drinking lemonade
Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh
Oh, Oh, Oh
You got it made
When you're drinking lemonade
Lemonade, Alex's lemonade
You got it made when you're drinking lemonade
Lemon, the Lemon, the Lemon, the Lemon
Lemon, the Lemon, the Lemon, the Lemon
You got it made,
When you're drinking Lemonade
Lemon, the Lemon, the Lemon, the Lemon
Lemon, the Lemon, the Lemon, the Lemon
You got it made,
When you're drinking Lemonade
Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh,
Oh, Oh, Oh
You got it made
When you're drinking lemonade
Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh,
Oh, Oh, Oh
You got it made
When you're drinking lemonade
Lemon, the Lemon, the Lemon, the Lemon
Lemon, the Lemon, the Lemon, the Lemon
You got it made,
When you're drinking Lemonade
Lemon, the Lemon, the Lemon, the Lemon
Lemon, the Lemon, the Lemon, the Lemon
You got it made,
When you're drinking Lemonade
Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh,
Oh, Oh, Oh
You got it made
When you're drinking lemonade
