The New Elbphilharmonie In Hamburg Goes Hollywood With A Concert Series Dedicated To Great Tinseltown Composers
Hamburg, GERMANY (Top40 Charts) Europe is the birthplace of classical music and the brand new Elbphilharmonie, one of the largest and acoustically advanced concert halls in the world, is a crown jewel venue celebrating this art form. Nowadays more and more high profile concert halls and music festivals all over Europe add the masterful compositions of great Hollywood composers to their line up to attract younger audiences with mass appeal. The critically acclaimed Elbphilharmonie will add a concert series with some of these iconic Hollywood composers to its highly anticipated program. Elphi, as the hall is nicknamed, in cooperation with "Hollywood in Vienna" and Tomek Productions will bring The Big Screen to the HafenCity. Danny Elfman, David Arnold and John Powell will be a part of this one-of-a-kind concert format, in which they will give "behind the scenes" stories and tell fun anecdotes of their cooperation with Hollywood's Top Filmmakers. But the star of the evening will be their scores brought to life in an opulent setting within this popular venue.

The first concert on Sept 30, 2017 is named "Batman meets Alice" and is dedicated to a man that shaped the sound of modern Hollywood scores for the past 30 years: four-time Academy Award nominee Danny Elfman. He added magical music to the fantastic images of Tim Burton in movies such as "Edward Scissorhands", "Alice in Wonderland", "Batman" and "The Nightmare Before Christmas".

The glamorous concert event, "The Sound of James Bond" on March 25, 2018, features the unforgettable sound of 007. Two British composers created the distinct music of some of the biggest movies in the franchise: John Barry (1933-2011) and David Arnold, who will be the guest of honor that night, with a program including some of Bond's most famous themes, including "Goldfinger", "Diamonds Are Forever", "The World Is Not Enough", "Casino Royale" and more.

"Ice Age and Beyond" is the title of the third concert in the series, taking place on June 24, 2018. This concert is dedicated to animated movies, one of the most successful genres in Hollywood. A composer that brings the wondrous moving pictures to life is John Powell, the star of this evening. He is known for popular animated films such as "Ice Age", "Happy Feet", "Rio", "How To Train Your Dragon" (Academy Award Nomination) and also the "Bourne" Thrillers with Matt Damon and the comedy "Mr & Mrs Smith".
The concert is a cooperation of Semmel Concerts Entertainment GmbH and Hollywood in Vienna/Tomek Productions.
