Houston, TX (Backstage Auctions, Inc.) -- It is with great excitement that Backstage Auctions announces the "The Turtles and Beyond Auction." The auction will feature over 4 decades of vintage rock memorabilia and historical artifacts direct from legendary musician Howard Kaylan's personal collection.

Howard saved just about everything throughout his career and having worked with so many legendary artists, this collection truly spans from The Beatles to Zappa and everything in between

Kaylan, original member and co founder of the famed '60s group The Turtles also worked with Frank Zappa's Mothers of Invention, and later formed the singing duo Flo & Eddie with his long time friend and Turtles co founder Mark Volman. Together they went on to produce many albums for other bands and artists, as well as singing background on over 100 albums. Flo and Eddie can be heard singing with John Lennon, Bruce Springsteen, The Ramones, Blondie, Duran Duran, The Psychedelic Furs, T. Rex, Alice Cooper and dozens more.

Howard's collection is a 40 year walk down rock history, with each piece telling a story and chronicling his legendary career. Among the many notable pieces being offered are rare artifacts that were saved from the 1971 Montreux Jazz Festival fire, original movie scripts from Zappa's "200 Motels" and "Billy the Mountain", Marc Bolan (T.Rex) stage worn shoes, original handwritten lyrics, rare photos and slides, recordings and an amazing collection of vinyl, acetates and test pressings. "Howard saved just about everything throughout his career and having worked with so many legendary artists, this collection truly spans from The Beatles to Zappa and everything in between," comments Backstage Auctions founder Jacques van Gool.

The auction will begin on Sunday, December 3 and will run for one week ending on Sunday, December 10. The full auction catalog, which will feature over 500 auction lots, will be available online to view beginning Sunday, November 26th at www.backstageauctions.com.
