Zach Ashton To Release New Album 'The Distance Between Us' In September 2011
Los Angeles, California (Top40 Charts/ Zach Ashton Official Website) International recording artist Zach Ashton announced today that he will release a new album entitled The Distance Between Us in September of 2011.

The album, consisting of nine new songs, was recorded in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil during the months of March and April, 2011. Ashton, no stranger to Brazil, enlisted Grammy winning engineer and producer Alan Sanderson to engineer and produce the project.

"It's interesting to come to Brazil and produce western music," says Sanderson. "Most artists coming to Brazil are recording bossa nova or jazz. With this record we set out to capture Brazil's interpretation of western music. The results have been timeless"

Alan Sanderson brings a wealth of experience to the project. Having worked with many artists including Fleetwood Mac, The Rolling Stones and Elton John, Sanderson understands the creative and technical process of producing unforgettable recordings within a studio setting.

"It's great to work with Alan," explained Ashton. "He knows how to push an artist to get their best performance but at the same time knows when to pull back and let them do their job."

The inspiration for the album is the story of how the modern world has changed our perception of what relationships should be and our longing for emotional connections. The lyrical content is deep, intimate and honest. The certain resonant theme of the album is actually a perfect complement to the title of the album.

Ashton expressed that "This album is not only about relationships. It is about people, culture and modern society. It is about the walls we are building and how we don't even realize that we are building them. I'm not talking specifically about love; I'm talking about culture as a whole."

The Distance Between Us was recorded at Casa do Mato Studios in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, mixed at Hyde Street Studios in San Francisco, California and mastered at Universal Mastering in Los Angeles, California. The Distance Between Us is Zach Ashton's fourth studio release. He resides in California.
