Dilan Jay Makes 3.14 A Singing Album Off The Heels Of A Successful Rap Career
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) "I want my journey and my new album to remind people that they are the heroes in their stories."

Dilan Jay, a singer-songwriter and actor, recently released his album 3.14 which officially launches his new sound on the heels of his career as DeLon the rapper. His new EP has 5 songs which provide the listener a sequential song-by-song journey of losing love, to finding it again, to being happy and worry-free and living your best life.

One of 3.14's tracks "Better Days" hit #1 on YesFM after the Easter Sunday bombings in Sri Lanka, his country of origin, when the need for unity amongst its citizens was at an all-time high. Dilan originally wrote "Better Days" a few years ago when he lost everything — his home, car, money, and possessions — and thus, when hope (and a pen in hand) were all he had to rebuild his life. Directly prior to this incident, Dilan spent 7 years performing professionally as a hip hop artist under his pseudonym DeLon, during which time he placed a #1 on MTV's Most Popular Music Videos (with song "Pretty Girls"), collaborated with Ty Dolla $ign, Iggy Azalea and other prominent artists, and also landed on the Billboard Charts.

"I was extremely fortunate to be living my dream. I traveled the world, played in front of tens of thousands, but all of that came crashing down and I was changed forever," Dilan stated.

Dilan officially decided in 2016 that his career as a rapper needed to evolve into one of a singer-songwriter, and thus, he attended Icon Collective and the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles for a fresh start. Coming from a hip-hop background, learning to sing while playing a guitar took some work in the beginning.

"People literally laughed at me," Dilan recounted, "Just years prior, I'd been at the top of my game as DeLon, but now, I had no friends and I was seen as talentless."

Dilan gradiantly learned the ropes as a singer and guitarist for those years after losing his possessions, during which time he wrote multiple songs and produced his new EP with sounds more like John Mayer and Ed Sheeran. The title 3.14 not only represents his birthday (March 14th), but more importantly, the mathematical equation of pi — a key ratio for circles — because his message is that no matter what happens in life, everything comes around full circle if you do not give up.

"I want my journey and my new album to remind people that they are the heroes in their stories," Dilan concluded.

3.14 is available on Spotify, iTunes, and SoundCloud.
