Louise 'Candy' Davis passed on Saturday, November 12, 2005, at the home of her daughter Leonetta Brown, In Birmingham, Alabama.
In 1982, she received her professional break when producer Frank Williams of Malaco Records heard her group and signed them to the label. From this signing, four memorable recordings would come forth – Lord Lift Us Higher, Better Than Blessed, Then These Trials, and Live In Birmingham. Out of all of her hit recordings, the song 'Better Than Blessed' is her signature piece.

According to Huey Williams of the legendary Jackson Southernaires, 'Louise was a highly respected, beloved, and spirit filled woman of God. I can never recall talking to her and she did not have a word to uplift and encourage me; she will be deeply missed.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories, a devoted husband, Mr. Leon Davis, Sr., one daughter, Leonetta Brown, two sons, Leon Davis Jr., and Alan Davis.
A special concert tribute is scheduled for Friday, November 18, 2005, 7:00pm at St. John Baptist Church, 521 4th Street, Pratt City, AL 35214.
