MIAMI GARDENS, FL. (Top40 Charts/ Circle of One Marketing/ City Of Miami Gardens) - On Monday, January 21, 2008, R&B Superstar Mario will join Tom Joyner and Black Violin to complete the entertainment lineup for the City of Miami Gardens' 4th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Celebration, "Unity in the Community," presented by The Children's' Trust and Comcast. This FREE multicultural community event will be held from 12 noon to 6 p.m. at Miami Carol City Park, 3201 NW 185th Street, Miami Gardens, Florida. All people, young and old, are invited and encouraged to attend to celebrate the life and legacy of a great American hero, the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Tom Joyner, host of the No 1 rated nationally syndicated morning show, the "Tom Joyner Morning Show," will be present to take part in the festivities. Joyner is one of the most respected and revered media personalities in the country. Grammy-nominated singer and Sony BMG recording artist Mario, who will be the festival's headline performer, has enjoyed tremendous success within the past year; his new single 'Crying out for Me' spent the past 5 weeks in the top 10 of the Billboard charts. Acclaimed musical duo, Black Violin, will be the opening act. Black Violin recently performed in Dubai with Kanye West, Joss Stone and other major music artists to an enthusiastic audience of over 40,000.

"It is our duty to remind people of Dr. King's legacy by keeping his dream alive. He made it possible for people of color, women, children and all minorities to dream boundlessly and live those dreams. Dr. King's legacy has been the doorway for opportunity for each and every one of us in one way or another, and on his birthday our City and our residents will honor his birth; messages of peace and non-violence; and his extraordinary contributions to humankind," comments Councilwoman Sharon Pritchett.

The MLK Committee, comprised of Miami Gardens residents, is presenting an action packed and fun filled day for the family, including musical entertainment, a keynote speaker, interactive games in the Children's Trust Kids Zone, the Miami Carol City High School Marching Band and Chorus, the Chen Medical Center Senior Arts & Crafts Pavilion, The Children's Trust Oratorical and Performance Poetry competition, great food vendors and more.

In the first three years since its inception, "Unity in the Community" has grown into a popular family-friendly festival appealing to folks from the Palm Beaches to Homestead. The event is expected to enjoy a day long attendance of approximately 7,000 people.
